📋 Description

• DevOps Engineer role focused on supporting Wintermute’s OTC Trading Platform, a critical infrastructure enabling algorithmic liquidity provision across global cryptocurrency exchanges and institutional counterparties; this position is pivotal in ensuring the stability, performance, and scalability of systems that facilitate high-volume, low-latency trading for thousands of clients, directly impacting Wintermute’s market influence and operational reliability in the rapidly expanding digital asset space.
• Day-to-day responsibilities include designing, implementing, and maintaining CI/CD pipelines for OTC platform services using tools like Jenkins, GitLab CI, and ArgoCD; managing Kubernetes clusters in hybrid cloud environments (AWS, GCP, on-prem) to ensure high availability and auto-scaling for trading workloads; monitoring system health via Prometheus, Grafana, and ELK stack, setting up alerts and incident response protocols to minimize downtime during peak trading hours; automating infrastructure provisioning with Terraform and Ansible, ensuring consistency across development, staging, and production environments; collaborating with software engineers to containerize legacy and microservices applications using Docker and Helm charts; conducting regular performance tuning and capacity planning exercises to support growing counterparty volumes; participating in on-call rotation for US-hour support, providing rapid troubleshooting for API integrations, connectivity issues, and platform anomalies reported by institutional clients.
• The Liquidity Integration team operates as a global, cross-functional unit with hubs in London, Singapore, and now New York, working closely with traders, product managers, business development, and software engineers to deliver seamless OTC trading experiences; Wintermute’s Americas office, launched in early 2025, is undergoing rapid expansion, offering this role a unique opportunity to shape foundational DevOps practices in a high-growth, high-impact environment where technical excellence directly enables market leadership in digital asset liquidity.
• In this role, you will deepen your expertise in cloud-native infrastructure, financial-grade system reliability, and high-frequency trading platform operations; you will gain hands-on experience with real-time trading systems, regulatory-adjacent infrastructure in crypto finance, and global collaboration across time zones — positioning you as a specialist in DevOps for fintech and digital assets, with clear pathways to lead infrastructure initiatives or specialize further in platform engineering, SRE, or trading systems architecture within Wintermute’s growing global tech organization.

🎯 Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related technical field, or equivalent practical experience
• 3+ years of hands-on experience as a DevOps Engineer, Site Reliability Engineer, or similar role in a fast-paced technology environment
• Strong proficiency with Linux/Unix systems administration, shell scripting (Bash/Python), and networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, DNS, HTTP/HTTPS)
• Proven experience managing Kubernetes clusters at scale, including Helm, Operators, and custom controller development
• Expertise in infrastructure-as-code using Terraform and configuration management with Ansible or similar tools
• Experience with CI/CD pipeline design and implementation using Jenkins, GitLab CI, GitHub Actions, or ArgoCD
• Familiarity with monitoring and observability stacks (Prometheus, Grafana, ELK, Datadog, or New Relic)
• Understanding of security best practices in cloud environments, including secrets management (Vault, AWS Secrets Manager) and network segmentation
• Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate effectively with traders, engineers, and product teams across global time zones
• Ability to thrive in a high-pressure, mission-critical environment with a strong ownership mindset
