📋 Description

• As a DevOps Engineer (Platform & Deployment Architecture) at SouthGeek S.A., you will play a pivotal role in modernizing the deployment infrastructure for a fintech client serving government agencies, replacing a legacy PHP-based system with a robust, containerized platform that ensures reliability, recoverability, and transparency in critical financial operations.
• You will design and implement a new deployment system from the ground up, enabling secure and observable releases for both existing PHP services and emerging Rust-based workloads, directly supporting the client’s mission to digitize public sector payments with long-term stability and traceability.
• Day to day, you will architect and build containerized deployment pipelines using Docker or Podman, ensuring seamless integration with Linux-based environments (Debian, Ubuntu, Amazon Linux) and aligning with CI/CD principles to enable automated, repeatable, and safe releases across heterogeneous services.
• You will establish observability, logging, and recoverability mechanisms into the deployment platform, designing systems that are easy to debug and maintain during failures, with a strong emphasis on simplicity and operational resilience over unnecessary complexity.
• You will collaborate closely with backend engineers who are not DevOps specialists, providing guidance on infrastructure decisions, defining deployment standards, and unifying workflows across PHP and Rust services to create a consistent, maintainable release process.
• You will lead the adoption and stabilization of the new platform, offering training, documentation, and support as teams transition from the old system, while continuously refining best practices based on real-world usage and feedback.
• You will contribute to a culture of technical excellence and growth at SouthGeek S.A., where your work directly enables engineers to focus on product innovation rather than deployment friction, fostering an environment where reliability and maintainability are foundational to engineering velocity.
• In this role, you will deepen your expertise in platform engineering, infrastructure-as-code thinking, and pragmatic DevOps practices within a regulated fintech context, gaining hands-on experience modernizing critical systems in a high-stakes, compliance-driven environment.

🎯 Requirements

• Strong experience designing and implementing containerized deployment systems using Docker, Podman, or similar technologies.
• Solid experience working with Linux-based environments including Debian, Ubuntu, and Amazon Linux.
• Understanding of CI/CD principles and deployment pipeline design, with practical experience building observable, recoverable, and maintainable systems.
• Proven ability to collaborate with backend engineers and guide infrastructure decisions in a supportive, advisory capacity.
• Pragmatic mindset favoring simple, durable solutions over over-engineered architectures, with a focus on long-term maintainability.
• Background in fintech or other reliability-critical systems is preferred but not required.
