📋 Description

• DevSecOps Engineer (DoD) role focused on designing, deploying, and maintaining secure, cloud-native infrastructure for Department of War customers, ensuring compliance and hardened software systems at scale.
• Day-to-day responsibilities include managing Kubernetes infrastructure, deploying applications via Helm, enforcing policy controls with Istio/OPA Gatekeeper/Kyverno, building CI/CD pipelines with GitLab CI/GitHub Actions/Jenkins, operating workloads on AWS GovCloud and Azure Government, hardening container images, configuring observability stacks (Prometheus, Grafana, Datadog), supporting ATO processes, and collaborating across development, security, and program teams.
• RapidFort Inc. is a remote-first company specializing in DevSecOps solutions for government and defense clients, operating within DoD software factory environments and supporting classified, air-gapped, and high-trust workloads.
• The role offers deep expertise in DoD compliance frameworks (NIST 800-53, STIGs, RMF, FedRAMP), hands-on experience with Iron Bank/Platform One software factories, and opportunities to advance in continuous authorization (cATO) environments while contributing to national security missions.

🎯 Requirements

• 4+ years of hands-on experience with Kubernetes in production environments
• Demonstrated experience deploying and managing applications via Helm in multi-environment configurations
• Working knowledge of Istio, OPA Gatekeeper, Kyverno, or equivalent Kubernetes policy and service mesh tooling
• Experience with at least one major CI/CD platform: GitLab CI, GitHub Actions, Jenkins, or equivalent
• Hands-on experience with AWS and/or Azure cloud platforms, including IAM, networking, storage, and managed Kubernetes services (EKS, AKS)
• Active DoW security clearance (Secret or higher)
