- • The DevSecOps Software Developer SME will design, build, troubleshoot, and maintain automation and integration capabilities for mission-focused cloud and software delivery environments, reducing manual work, improving repeatability, supporting secure delivery, and documenting solutions.
- • Day-to-day responsibilities include applying expert knowledge across the software development lifecycle, designing and maintaining automation for infrastructure and CI/CD pipelines, developing scripts and tools using common scripting and cloud technologies, analyzing user and business needs to produce technical designs and documentation, supporting secure configuration management and vulnerability remediation, troubleshooting complex issues across application, OS, infrastructure, cloud, network, identity, and CI/CD boundaries, and providing guidance to less experienced engineers under Cloud and Software Factory leads.
- • The role is part of an engineering team supporting cloud infrastructure, software factory services, automation, security compliance, and production operations at General Dynamics Information Technology (GDIT), a global technology and professional services company delivering consulting, technology, and mission services to U.S. government, defense, and intelligence agencies across 50 countries.
- • The engineer will gain deep expertise in secure software delivery, DevSecOps practices, cloud automation, infrastructure as code, and compliance-driven engineering, with opportunities to lead technical tasks, mentor junior staff, and contribute to mission-critical systems in classified environments while advancing career growth through GDIT’s AI-powered career tools and internal mobility support.
🎯 Requirements
- • Top Secret clearance currently possessed
- • 10+ years of related software development, automation, DevOps, cloud, systems engineering, or mission IT experience
- • US Citizenship required
- • Experience with scripting or software development, CI/CD or automation tooling, cloud or infrastructure services, source control, technical troubleshooting, and documentation
- • DoW 8570/8140 baseline certification such as Security+ CE
