- • Serve as a leading authority on Artificial Intelligence applications within corporate finance, advising CFOs, FP&A leaders, Controllers, and Finance Transformation teams on AI strategy, implementation, and governance.
- • Develop and publish unique, defensible, and highly consumable insights on Finance AI use cases leveraging traditional, generative, and agentic AI techniques across forecasting, planning, budgeting, record-to-report, and transactional finance processes.
- • Research, analyze, and predict global market trends in Finance AI technologies, including vendor landscapes, emerging capabilities, and the evolving role of agentic AI in finance automation.
- • Design and deliver compelling, actionable recommendations to clients through virtual and in-person meetings, sales support visits, Gartner conferences, and industry events.
- • Create high-value presentation materials for internal and external audiences, including keynote speeches, client briefings, and conference presentations on Finance AI topics.
- • Provide thought leadership by establishing and evolving Gartner’s research agenda on Finance AI, challenging conventional thinking and introducing provocative, data-driven perspectives.
- • Conduct in-depth analysis to identify root causes of client challenges in AI adoption, reframing problems to drive strategic decision-making and business transformation.
- • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including IT, Data, Legal, and HR to understand the interplay between AI deployment and broader enterprise systems within finance functions.
- • Support BTI and Sales teams by serving as the voice of the market, helping to shape content strategy and drive client engagement around critical finance AI priorities.
- • Perform peer review of research content to ensure quality, accuracy, and alignment with Gartner’s methodology and standards.
- • Mentor junior analysts and contribute to the development of team capabilities in AI research and client advisory practices.
- • Identify and implement improvements to research processes to enhance efficiency, scalability, and impact across the Insights team.
- • Represent Gartner’s research methodology and strategic positioning at all levels, building credibility as a trusted advisor to enterprise finance leaders globally.
- • Maintain deep familiarity with finance data sources, technologies, and workflows, and apply quantitative analytics, statistical modeling, and probabilistic decision-making frameworks to assess AI impact.
- • Demonstrate executive presence by establishing immediate credibility with C-suite and senior finance stakeholders during high-stakes engagements.
- • Travel up to 25% to attend client meetings, industry conferences, and internal Gartner events as required.
- • Stay current on global competitive dynamics and technological advancements in Finance AI to ensure Gartner’s insights remain ahead of market shifts.
- • Actively participate in innovation and ideation sessions with the broader Insights community to shape the future direction of Gartner’s AI research agenda.
- • Be client-centric by fostering regular, meaningful engagement between clients and Gartner’s insights, ensuring sustained value delivery.
🎯 Requirements
- • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience; Graduate degree preferred
- • 12+ years of relevant field or industry experience working on finance function and technology topics, with 3+ years focused on AI for finance, with increasing scope and responsibility
- • Career exposure to major finance processes and workflows, including forecasting, planning, budgeting, record-to-report, accounts payable, and accounts receivable
- • Experience with deployment of AI functionality in embedded tools or development of homegrown/company-specific AI solutions within finance
- • Exposure to data science, quantitative analytics, statistics, probabilistic decision-making, and coding languages (preferably Python) via on-the-job experience or formal education
- • Demonstrated executive presence and ability to establish immediate credibility with C-suite and senior finance stakeholders
