📋 Description

• • Own the end-to-end reliability, performance, and security of Coupa’s multi-cloud BSM platform that processes trillions of dollars in global spend data for 10M+ buyers and suppliers. You will set the strategic direction for a 24x7 Technical Operations organization that is the first line of defense for every customer SLA and SLO.
• • Lead, mentor, and scale a distributed global team of Technical Operations Engineers across North America, EMEA, and APAC. Instill a culture of ownership, customer-centricity, and continuous improvement by defining clear career paths, measurable OKRs, and a blameless post-mortem culture that turns every incident into an opportunity to harden the platform.
• • Architect and continuously refine repeatable, auditable processes for incident response, capacity planning, patch management, and release orchestration. Your frameworks will be the blueprint that keeps the platform running at 99.9%+ availability while the business doubles in transaction volume year over year.
• • Drive the observability strategy end-to-end—selecting, deploying, and tuning tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, Datadog, New Relic, ELK, or Splunk—so that anomalies are detected and resolved before customers ever notice. You will own the metrics layer that feeds real-time executive dashboards and quarterly board reports.
• • Partner with Engineering, Product, Security, and Customer Success to embed reliability and security into every phase of the SDLC. You will co-own the CI/CD pipeline (Jenkins, GitLab CI, Azure DevOps, or CircleCI) and ensure every code release is automatically tested, canaried, and rolled back in minutes—not hours.
• • Direct proactive patch and vulnerability management across AWS, Azure, and GCP. You will maintain a living security roadmap that aligns with SOC 2, ISO 27001, and emerging compliance mandates, turning audits into a competitive advantage rather than a fire drill.
• • Translate complex technical risks into concise business narratives for the C-suite and board. You will present monthly operational reviews that quantify uptime gains, cost efficiencies, and risk reduction in dollars and cents, ensuring Technical Operations is viewed as a profit center, not a cost center.
• • Champion a data-driven culture by establishing golden signals (latency, traffic, errors, saturation) and economic indicators (cost per transaction, MTTR cost) that guide prioritization and investment decisions. Your dashboards will be the single source of truth for engineering, finance, and executive leadership.
• • Plan and execute multi-region disaster-recovery drills and chaos-engineering exercises that validate RPO/RTO targets under real-world failure conditions. You will turn theoretical resilience into proven, measurable confidence for the world’s largest enterprises trusting Coupa with their spend data.
• • Stay ahead of the technology curve by evaluating emerging cloud services, container platforms, and edge-compute options. You will run quarterly architecture reviews that balance innovation velocity with operational stability, ensuring Coupa remains the undisputed leader in total spend management.
