Full Job Description
đź“‹ Description
- • Lead the transformation of clinical content systems at athenahealth by modernizing news and drug information platforms through AI-enabled workflows, structured content architecture, and digital newsroom development to deliver trustworthy, decision-shaping intelligence for prescribers.
- • Redesign the Clinical Newsfeed from a volume-driven output to an editorially intelligent, audience-focused publishing engine by implementing stronger headline strategies, embargo planning, differentiated content formats (polls, quizzes, expert columns), audience-first prioritization, performance metrics, and optimized distribution across newsletters, push, and social channels while defining scalable human-AI collaboration models.
- • Rebuild Drug Information Operations by shifting from maintenance-based to impact-driven workflows, introducing per-page productivity metrics, user- and business-value prioritization, transparent monograph dating standards, and structured content architecture aligned with AI ingestion needs, while modernizing documentation, governance, and change management processes at scale.
- • Architect and launch a prescriber-focused Digital Newsroom that integrates drug news, regulatory updates, guideline changes, evidence-based lifestyle insights, expert columns, data visualizations, and interactive formats via a headless CMS (likely Sanity), ensuring content is structured as data, aligned with database integrity, and supported by a hiring roadmap targeting Q4 scale-up and engagement/growth metrics.
- • Operate as a systems builder in ambiguity — defining newsroom org structure, collaborating with Product on CMS implementation, establishing content-as-data foundations, and driving audience growth experimentation and change management across teams, mirroring the early-stage, scalable environment of a high-growth digital health innovator.
- • Join a mission-driven organization committed to simplifying healthcare complexity through IT solutions and expert services, where inclusivity, accountability, and support fuel innovation, and where you’ll help create a thriving ecosystem delivering accessible, high-quality, and sustainable healthcare for all.
🎯 Requirements
- • 10+ years of experience in digital health, publishing, or clinical content operations with a proven track record in building systems, not just managing output.
- • Director-level expertise in program management (PMP preferred) and experience implementing AI into content workflows at scale.
- • Hands-on familiarity with headless CMS platforms and content-as-data models, particularly in structured environments like Sanity or similar.
- • Demonstrated ability to scale teams in startup or high-growth settings while navigating ambiguity and establishing operational structure.
- • Bonus: Healthcare, life sciences, or public health background; experience with prescriber audiences; exposure to SEO and newsletter growth strategy.
🏖️ Benefits
- • Competitive base salary range of $212,000 - $360,000, supplemented by annual discretionary bonuses, variable compensation, and equity plans as part of athenahealth’s Total Rewards package.
- • Comprehensive health and financial benefits, including medical, dental, vision, and retirement savings plans with company matching.
- • Flexible work arrangements supporting work-life balance, with remote eligibility and digital collaboration tools enabling productive, fulfilling work from any location.
- • Access to professional development perks such as tuition assistance, employee resource groups, book clubs, external speaker events, and internal hackathons.
- • Inclusive, mission-driven culture that values diversity, equity, and inclusion, with dog-friendly workspaces (where applicable) and employee assistance programs supporting holistic well-being.
