We are seeking a visionary Director/VP of Perception & Physical AI Software to spearhead the transformation of our cutting-edge algorithms into robust, production-grade software platforms. This pivotal role demands a leader who can not only architect and drive the productization and scaling of these technologies but also cultivate and lead a world-class software engineering organization.
• • Your primary responsibility will be to own the end-to-end software productization strategy for our perception and physical AI solutions. This involves translating advanced research and prototypes into scalable, maintainable, and reliable software products that can be deployed, updated, and supported across diverse customer environments at scale. You will be instrumental in defining the future of how our AI interacts with the physical world.
• • A key aspect of this role is partnering closely with the Head of Physical AI Algorithms. Together, you will ensure a seamless transition from research breakthroughs to commercialized, reliable software products. This collaboration is crucial for setting the highest standards for software quality, development velocity, and operational excellence across the entire software lifecycle.
• • You will lead the development of production-ready software platforms and Software Development Kits (SDKs) that are built upon our advanced perception and AI algorithms. This requires a deep understanding of how to expose complex functionalities through well-defined APIs, enabling external developers and internal teams to leverage Lyte's core capabilities effectively.
• • Defining and driving the software architecture, modularization strategies, and API design will be critical for ensuring long-term scalability and maintainability. You will make foundational decisions that will impact the product's evolution for years to come, balancing immediate needs with future growth potential.
• • Building, mentoring, and leading a high-performing software engineering organization is paramount. This includes nurturing talent across perception, autonomy, infrastructure, and platform teams, fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, and accountability.
• • You will establish and rigorously enforce best practices for all aspects of the software development lifecycle. This encompasses code quality, comprehensive testing and validation strategies, efficient release management and versioning, and robust Over-The-Air (OTA) update mechanisms for seamless field deployment.
• • Ensuring the reliability, observability, and debuggability of our software in real-world, dynamic deployments is a non-negotiable requirement. You will implement systems and processes that allow us to monitor, diagnose, and resolve issues quickly and efficiently, minimizing downtime and maximizing customer satisfaction.
• • Close collaboration with cross-functional teams, including product management, systems engineering, hardware development, applications engineering, and customer-facing teams, will be essential. This ensures that our software capabilities are tightly aligned with market demands and customer needs, driving tangible business value.
• • You will represent the software strategy, roadmap, and execution progress at the executive and board levels, articulating technical vision and demonstrating progress towards strategic goals. This requires strong communication skills and the ability to translate complex technical concepts into business impact.
