District Data Support Analyst

📋 Description

• • Process and review logs for transcript files in AWS and CaliforniaColleges.edu environments to ensure data integrity and timely delivery.
• • Troubleshoot discrepancies in transcript files reported by K-12 and higher education district staff, resolving structural and data validity issues.
• • Support Local Education Agencies (LEAs) in California with creating, formatting, and submitting transcript files for integration into CaliforniaColleges.edu.
• • Develop and maintain clear, actionable technical documentation for transcript file processing that addresses both technical and end-user needs.
• • Perform quality assurance testing on transcript files for existing and onboarding districts to identify system bugs and data inconsistencies.
• • Design and execute test case scenarios to uncover anomalies in transcript data processing workflows.
• • Communicate virtually with Data Leads at partner LEAs to resolve file-related issues, provide guidance, and ensure compliance with data submission standards.
• • Collaborate with Technical Assistance staff to escalate and resolve complex transcript file cases tied to the Course Management Portal (CMP) and other platform functionalities.
• • Work closely with the Director of Integrations and Director of Cloud Infrastructure to address system-level anomalies without writing production code.
• • Ensure all cases are tracked and progressed according to established case management specifications and timelines.
• • Maintain familiarity with K-12 student information systems (SIS) such as PowerSchool, Aeries, Infinite Campus, and Synergy to understand data structures and export formats.
• • Utilize SQL and text editors to query, analyze, and validate large transcript data sets from diverse California LEAs.
• • Apply knowledge of CALPADS data sets to interpret and reconcile state-mandated student record formats.
• • Balance multiple concurrent projects with varying scopes, deadlines, and priorities in a fast-paced, remote environment.
• • Demonstrate meticulous attention to detail when reviewing complex data files and documenting findings for internal and external stakeholders.
• • Communicate effectively with educators, administrators, and technical teams across California using clear, professional verbal and written language.
• • Actively contribute to team learning by reflecting on past projects, sharing insights, and implementing process improvements based on lessons learned.
• • Support the California College Guidance Initiative’s mission to advance educational equity by ensuring accurate, timely transcript data flows to public higher education systems.
• • Operate remotely from a home office within California, with occasional travel for required business meetings or training sessions.
• • Report to the Deputy Director, Data Services, and collaborate within a fully remote team of support specialists across the state.
