đź“‹ Description
- • As a Contract Documentation & UX Writer at Contrast Security, you will play a pivotal role in translating complex application security concepts into clear, user-centered content that empowers developers and security professionals to effectively use cutting-edge Application Detection and Response (ADR) technology. Your work will directly impact product usability and customer success by ensuring technical depth is matched with intuitive understanding.
- • You will be embedded in both staging and live environments, proactively shaping the user journey before features ship — transforming intricate security workflows into accessible, structured experiences through strategic information architecture, precise UX writing, and validated content that bridges engineering and end-user needs.
- • The Documentation & UX team at Contrast Security operates as a strategic partner to product, engineering, and design, championing user advocacy in a fast-moving, innovation-driven culture where clarity and precision are critical to securing software at the speed of development.
- • In this role, you will deepen your expertise in structured authoring within Paligo, strengthen your ability to collaborate across distributed technical teams, and gain hands-on experience applying AI-augmented workflows to scale high-quality documentation — positioning you as a hybrid technical communicator and UX strategist in the application security domain.
- • What the person will do day to day:
- • Audit and restructure existing documentation to support a new product line, defining intuitive information architecture that makes complex security concepts like ADR, SAST, and IAST accessible to diverse audiences including developers and security analysts.
- • Partner with UX and product design teams to craft clear, concise microcopy — including button labels, tooltips, in-app guidance, and error messages — that reduces friction and enhances user comprehension across the Contrast Security platform.
- • Author, manage, and reuse technical content in Paligo CCMS using structured authoring methodologies, ensuring consistency, version control, and single-source-of-truth principles are maintained across all deliverables.
- • Validate all documentation and UI copy by actively testing features in staging and production environments, confirming technical accuracy and alignment with real-world user workflows before public release.
- • Extract screenshots, workflow logic, and technical details from Figma prototypes to inform content creation ahead of feature deployment, enabling proactive documentation rather than reactive updates.
- • Integrate AI tools into your workflow to accelerate research, generate first drafts, maintain tone and style consistency, and optimize content at scale without sacrificing quality or precision.
- • Build trusted relationships with engineers, product managers, and designers across distributed teams, acting as a documentation ambassador who educates stakeholders on best practices for collaboration and early content involvement.
- • Navigate evolving requirements and ambiguous timelines with resilience, maintaining high standards of quality and clarity while adapting to shifting priorities in a dynamic, product-led environment.
- • About the team or company:
- • Contrast Security is a leader in application security, pioneering Application Detection and Response (ADR) technology that enables organizations to detect, block, and remediate threats in real time — directly within running applications — without slowing down development.
- • The company fosters a culture of innovation, ownership, and user-centricity, where technical excellence is balanced with a deep commitment to making security accessible, actionable, and seamless for developers and security teams alike.
- • What the person can learn or achieve in this role:
- • Master the application of structured authoring and component content management in Paligo, gaining rare, marketable expertise in a system used by elite technical documentation teams across industries.
- • Develop a rare hybrid skill set at the intersection of technical writing, UX design, and security domain knowledge — positioning yourself as a strategic contributor to product-led growth in high-stakes B2B technology markets.
🎯 Requirements
- • Proven experience with Paligo or a comparable component-based content management system (CCMS) for structured authoring and content reuse.
- • Demonstrated expertise in Information Architecture, including the ability to audit, restructure, and scale complex content sets for clarity and navigability.
- • Familiarity with software security concepts and testing methodologies such as ADR (Application Detection and Response), SAST (Static Application Security Testing), and IAST (Interactive Application Security Testing).
- • Comfort working in staging and production environments to validate technical accuracy of documentation through hands-on testing and verification.
- • Ability to extract technical details and screenshots from design tools like Figma without requiring design execution skills.
- • Proficiency in leveraging AI tools for research, drafting, and maintaining stylistic consistency across large volumes of technical content.
- • Strong remote collaboration skills, with the initiative to gather requirements, build influence, and drive alignment across distributed teams without relying on formal handoffs.
🏖️ Benefits
- • Opportunity to work on impactful, cutting-edge application security technology that is shaping how organizations secure software at the speed of modern development.
- • Fully remote contract role offering flexibility and autonomy while collaborating with a distributed, high-performing team of engineers, designers, and product experts.
- • Exposure to advanced tooling including Paligo CCMS, Figma, and AI-augmented content workflows, building future-ready technical communication expertise.
- • Chance to act as a user advocate and documentation ambassador, directly influencing product usability and customer success through strategic content decisions.
- • Professional growth in a fast-paced, innovative environment where your contributions are visible, valued, and tied to real-world product outcomes.
