Edge Support Engineer

📋 Description

• • As an Edge Support Engineer at Quartermaster, you will be responsible for the remote configuration, activation, and continuous operation of advanced sensor fleets deployed on maritime vessels, enabling real-time maritime domain awareness by transforming ships into persistent sensing nodes.
• • Your day-to-day responsibilities include remotely provisioning edge nodes by configuring cameras, Software Defined Radios (SDRs), and Starlink connections immediately after physical installation; independently troubleshooting Linux systems, container crashes, and hardware-software integration issues from remote locations; and serving as the critical technical bridge between field technicians, backend engineers, and AI teams to ensure seamless data flow and system health.
• • Quartermaster operates at the forefront of maritime intelligence, deploying edge-compute nodes with high-definition cameras, SDRs, and edge AI processors backed by Starlink to eliminate global oceanic blindspots, operating in the most remote and challenging environments on Earth.
• • In this role, you will deepen your expertise in edge computing, Linux systems administration, containerized workloads in constrained environments, and complex networking over satellite links, while contributing directly to national security and maritime safety through high-impact, mission-critical technical work.
