📋 Description

• • As an Embedded & Automation Engineer at Firestorm, you will build the software that transforms physical manufacturing cells into intelligent, automated, data-producing systems, operating at the critical software/hardware boundary to enable rapid iteration and scalable production of next-generation uncrewed aircraft.
• • You will design and implement embedded real-time software for cobot integration, fixture control, and data acquisition; build and operate SIL/HIL/VIL test infrastructure; own the edge agent and hardware abstraction layer; develop firmware-adjacent tooling for hardware bring-up and flashing; and partner with manufacturing and hardware teams to define automation strategies.
• • Firestorm is building the next generation of uncrewed aircraft and advanced manufacturing systems, with the Software Integration & Operations department owning the software layer from factory floor to cloud, enabling rapid product iteration, automated manufacturing, and scalable production with uncompromising quality.
• • You will gain deep expertise in industrial robotics integration (ROS 2, UR/Fanuc/ABB), real-time embedded systems, hardware-abstraction layers, and manufacturing automation—positioning you as a key contributor to cutting-edge aerospace and defense manufacturing innovation.
