đź“‹ Description
- • As an Engineer, Identity & Access at Twilio Inc., you will be at the forefront of securing the company's digital landscape, playing a pivotal role in shaping and implementing robust identity and access management (IAM) strategies. This is a critical technical position focused on integrating, building, and automating systems to ensure the secure and efficient management of access across the entire enterprise.
- • Your primary responsibility will be to champion an "Everything-as-Code" approach, translating fundamental security principles like Least Privilege Access (LPA) and Zero Trust into scalable, automated, and auditable engineering solutions. This proactive approach aims to eliminate manual provisioning processes, significantly reducing security risks and enhancing operational efficiency.
- • You will be instrumental in integrating and deploying enterprise-level IAM solutions, APIs, and integrations. This involves working with core security principles to manage the identity lifecycle for all employees and systems, ensuring that access is granted appropriately and revoked when necessary.
- • The role requires you to work across a diverse technical landscape, rapidly deconstructing and understanding new environments. You will bridge the gap between custom code and no-code platforms, developing logic in scripts or visual canvases to automate access management tasks.
- • A key focus will be on Privileged Access Management (PAM), where you will actively contribute to developing and maintaining strategies for managing and securing privileged user and service accounts. This includes reducing the attack surface area and enhancing monitoring capabilities for these high-risk accounts.
- • You will lead participation in security audits, risk assessments, and mitigation activities. Ensuring that all IAM controls meet stringent regulatory and internal compliance standards will be a core part of your duties, demonstrating Twilio's commitment to security and governance.
- • The position encourages innovation and modernization, requiring you to dive into new security technologies frequently. You will champion the implementation of bleeding-edge authentication standards and advanced access control models to keep Twilio's security posture ahead of evolving threats.
- • System integration and development are crucial aspects of this role. You will integrate identity platforms with core enterprise applications such as ServiceNow and JIRA using REST APIs and common identity protocols. Furthermore, you will contribute to internal frontend libraries and frameworks to build user-friendly, self-service access interfaces, empowering users while maintaining security.
- • You will participate in a 24x7 on-call rotation to provide rapid resolution for high-severity issues impacting authentication and access across the enterprise, ensuring business continuity and minimal disruption.
- • This role is ideal for an engineer who thrives in a dynamic, remote-first environment, values collaboration, and is passionate about building secure, scalable, and automated solutions. You will have the opportunity to make a significant impact on Twilio's security posture and contribute to a culture of innovation and inclusion.
- • By automating access provisioning and deprovisioning, you will directly contribute to reducing operational overhead and freeing up valuable engineering resources to focus on strategic initiatives. Your work will ensure that Twilio's sensitive data and systems are protected against unauthorized access and potential breaches.
- • You will collaborate closely with various engineering teams, security operations, and compliance officers to understand their access needs and implement solutions that align with both business objectives and security best practices.
- • The role demands a proactive mindset, a deep understanding of security principles, and the ability to translate complex technical requirements into practical, implementable solutions. You will be a key player in maintaining Twilio's reputation as a trusted and secure communications platform.
- • Embracing Twilio's "Everything-as-Code" philosophy, you will treat IAM configurations, policies, and workflows as code, enabling version control, automated testing, and seamless deployment.
- • You will be responsible for the continuous improvement of IAM processes and tools, staying abreast of industry trends and emerging threats to ensure Twilio's defenses remain robust and effective.
- • This position offers a unique opportunity to work with cutting-edge technologies and contribute to a globally recognized company that is revolutionizing the way businesses communicate.
