📋 Description
- • Plan, create, and optimize social media content across Instagram, TikTok, X, Facebook, YouTube, Snapchat, and ESPN-owned platforms for the ESPN NEXT Show Social team or ESPN Social Media team
- • Support social coverage of ESPN shows by identifying key moments and producing platform-specific content tailored to each channel’s audience and format
- • Clip, edit, and design short-form videos and graphics using industry-standard tools to enhance engagement and brand consistency
- • Write engaging social copy including captions, headlines, and content packaging that aligns with ESPN’s voice and editorial standards
- • Monitor trending sports storylines, athlete news, and cultural moments to surface timely, relevant content opportunities
- • Apply editorial judgment and responsible publishing practices while collaborating with production, editorial, and social teams to ensure accuracy and brand integrity
- • Work a consistent, reliable 40-hour weekly schedule throughout the internship period, including nights and weekends as needed for live events and breaking news
- • Maintain a dedicated, quiet workspace and reliable internet connection to support remote work requirements
- • Contribute to the social media strategy for major sports events, studio shows, and original ESPN storytelling across digital platforms
- • Collaborate cross-functionally to align content with broader editorial and production goals while adhering to ESPN’s brand guidelines
- • Stay current on emerging social media trends, creator strategies, and platform algorithm changes to inform content decisions
- • Use data-informed insights to evaluate content performance and adapt strategies for improved audience engagement
- • Work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment with frequent shifts in priorities due to live sports and breaking news
- • Support the production of visual content including graphics and video edits that meet professional broadcast and digital standards
- • Participate in team meetings, content planning sessions, and feedback loops to refine content strategy and execution
- • Ensure all published content complies with ESPN’s editorial policies, legal guidelines, and responsible publishing standards
- • Contribute to the daily social media calendar by pitching original content ideas that align with creative and editorial needs
- • Maintain awareness of athletes, teams, leagues, and major sporting events across multiple sports to inform content relevance and timeliness
- • Adapt quickly to evolving platform requirements and audience preferences while maintaining high-quality output under tight deadlines
