📋 Description

• EverHealth, a division of EverCommerce Inc., is seeking a Software Engineer Intern to join the DrChrono Practice Engineering Team, where you will contribute to a cloud-based EHR and practice management platform that supports over 725,000 healthcare providers across the U.S. in managing scheduling, charting, billing, and patient engagement—directly improving clinical workflows and patient outcomes through reliable, scalable SaaS technology.
• As an intern, you will gain hands-on experience building production software in a modern, distributed SaaS environment while working alongside experienced engineers to deliver real features that enhance the daily workflows of medical professionals, all while learning how healthcare technology is engineered for reliability, security, and compliance at scale.
• You will build or improve features within the DrChrono EHR and Practice Management platform, developing backend services or APIs that power clinical and operational workflows such as appointment scheduling, electronic health records, and billing systems.
• You will improve the performance, reliability, and observability of existing systems by identifying bottlenecks, implementing optimizations, and contributing to monitoring and logging solutions that ensure system stability under real-world healthcare workloads.
• You will implement UI improvements in collaboration with product and design teams, translating user feedback into intuitive interfaces that help providers navigate complex clinical tasks more efficiently.
• You will write automated tests (unit, integration, and end-to-end) and contribute to CI/CD pipelines, ensuring code quality, reducing regression risks, and enabling safe, frequent deployments to production environments.
• You will work with engineers to troubleshoot production issues, participate in incident response, and improve system resilience through root cause analysis and preventive fixes, gaining exposure to real-world SRE practices in a healthcare SaaS context.
• You will engage in sprint planning, backlog refinement, code reviews, and technical design discussions, learning agile methodologies and collaborative engineering practices used by high-performing teams in a regulated industry.
• You will demo completed work to your team and stakeholders, developing communication skills to present technical solutions clearly and confidently to both technical and non-technical audiences.
• You will join a globally distributed team spanning the U.S., Canada, the U.K., Jordan, New Zealand, and Australia, gaining experience in asynchronous communication, cross-timezone collaboration, and remote-first engineering culture—preparing you for modern distributed work environments.
• You will learn how engineering decisions impact healthcare compliance, data privacy (including HIPAA considerations), and patient safety, giving you a unique perspective on building technology that serves critical human needs.
• By the end of the 10-week internship, you will have contributed to production code, strengthened your full-stack development skills, built a professional network within a mission-driven tech company, and gained a compelling portfolio piece that demonstrates your ability to deliver value in a regulated, high-stakes industry.

🎯 Requirements

• Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field from an accredited university, with rising junior or senior standing for Summer 2026.
• Experience with Python, React, Node.js, and/or Django, including building web applications or APIs, and familiarity with Git and collaborative development workflows.
• Strong foundation in data structures and algorithms, object-oriented programming principles, and the ability to write clean, maintainable, and testable code.
• Interest in healthcare technology and SaaS platforms, with a proactive attitude, effective communication skills, and the ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
• Authorization to work in the United States without sponsorship from June to August 2026, and willingness to travel to Denver, Colorado for the intern kickoff week and potential executive presentations.
