đź“‹ Description
- • As an Experience Architect specializing in Transportation at Autodesk, you will be at the forefront of shaping the future of infrastructure design. This pivotal role operates as an individual contributor, serving as a strategic linchpin for senior design and product leadership. Your primary mission is to define and refine how complex infrastructure design workflows function seamlessly across Autodesk's diverse suite of products, platforms, and services.
- • You will ascend to become the company’s foremost authority on experience design within the infrastructure sector. Your expertise will be applied across a range of critical Autodesk tools, including Civil 3D, Revit, Forma, ReCap, and other related platform capabilities. The focus of your work will be on intricate, cross-product workflows that are fundamental to modern infrastructure development. This includes areas such as corridor-based design, alignment definition, terrain grading, surface modeling, precise geolocation, and ensuring robust data interoperability. In these domains, the continuity of design intent and the integrity of data are paramount, and your role will be to ensure these are maintained and enhanced.
- • A key aspect of this position involves deep, synergistic collaboration with our Engineering and Platform teams. You are expected to bring a profound understanding of front-end development principles and data modeling techniques. This fluency will empower you to critically assess and reason about APIs, state management strategies, performance limitations, and the intricacies of AEC (Architecture, Engineering, and Construction) data models. Your insights will be instrumental in defining experiences that are not only user-centric but also technically feasible, scalable, and aligned with the underlying system architecture. You will ensure that our experience strategy is firmly grounded in the practical realities of how our systems operate, moving beyond superficial user interface design to address the core mechanics of the software.
- • This role is designed to tackle multifaceted problems that transcend the boundaries of individual teams and organizational units. You will forge close partnerships with senior UX and engineering leadership, as well as with product leaders responsible for our infrastructure solutions. Together, you will frame long-term experience strategies, pinpoint systemic points of friction within workflows, and define comprehensive experience models that will serve as guiding principles for execution across multiple teams. You will operate with a significant degree of autonomy and authority, wielding influence over product roadmaps, critical technical decisions, and the overall design direction, all without the need for direct line management.
- • As an Experience Architect, you will masterfully balance strategic vision with hands-on contribution. Your deliverables will include the creation of robust experience frameworks, detailed models, and exemplary reference designs. These artifacts will empower various teams to deliver cohesive and effective infrastructure workflows. A significant part of your mandate will involve guiding the responsible integration of Artificial Intelligence (AI) technologies to augment engineering judgment throughout the entire lifecycle of transportation projects – from initial planning and detailed design to final delivery. Your success will be tangibly measured by improvements in workflow continuity, the establishment of clearer decision-making points for users, a demonstrable reduction in systemic friction, and tangible progress towards Autodesk’s overarching strategy for infrastructure solutions and AI integration.
- • You will be responsible for owning the experience architecture for critical infrastructure and transportation workflows, ensuring consistency and coherence across all relevant products and platforms.
- • You will actively partner with senior UX, Product, and Engineering leaders to shape the strategic direction and prioritization of our infrastructure initiatives.
- • Your role will involve framing complex, cross-product challenges in a manner that facilitates sound organizational and technical decision-making.
- • You will leverage your front-end and data-model expertise to ensure that our experience strategies are not only innovative but also technically feasible, scalable, and built for long-term durability.
- • You will be tasked with identifying systemic issues related to workflow efficiency, data interoperability, and consistency, and driving alignment towards effective solutions.
- • You will exert influence over product and platform roadmaps by clearly articulating user needs, technical constraints, and necessary trade-offs.
- • You will guide the integration of AI into infrastructure workflows, focusing on how it can best augment and support engineering decision-making processes.
- • You will serve as a key point of reference and a mentor for senior designers and architects working within our infrastructure teams.
- • You will represent the infrastructure experience architecture vision and strategy in high-level forums, including those involving senior and executive leadership.
