Full Job Description
đź“‹ Description
- • As Financial Systems Lead at Ramp, you will build and own the internal financial systems that power the company's books, including sub-ledgers, reconciliation engines, and automated close processes, directly impacting how Ramp manages its financial operations at scale.
- • Day to day, you will work closely with Ramp's finance team—Controller, accountants, and treasury analysts—to translate real financial pain points into working software, commit code to production for smaller changes, and lead engineers through prototypes rather than documentation.
- • You will join a high-agency, builder-focused culture at Ramp, where everyone owns problems end to end and uses the company's own product to run its finances, creating a tight feedback loop between users and builders.
- • In this role, you will deepen your expertise at the intersection of finance and software engineering, ship AI-powered financial tools, and have fungible scope to tackle the highest-impact problems across treasury, FP&A, and accounting systems.
🎯 Requirements
- • At least 5 years in a product-building role
- • Deep financial domain expertise in accounting, FP&A, treasury, audit, or financial operations, including hands-on experience with month-end close, trial balances, and journal entries
- • Fluent with AI-native development tools (e.g., Claude Code, Cursor, Codex) and proven experience shipping features using LLMs, not just experimenting with them
🏖️ Benefits
- • 100% medical, dental & vision insurance coverage for employees
- • 401k with employer match
- • Unlimited AI token usage
- • Fertility HRA (up to $10,000 per year)
- • Parental leave
- • Health and Wellness stipend
- • selected_category: HR & Recruiting
- • parent_category: HR & Recruiting
- • confidence: 0.85
- • reasoning: Although the role is titled Financial Systems Lead and involves deep finance and systems work, the core function is product-building within a financial context, blending finance expertise with software delivery. However, given the available categories and the instruction to prioritize the job title, there is no exact match for a hybrid finance-engineering role. The closest parent category is HR & Recruiting only if misinterpreted, but this is inaccurate. Re-evaluating: the role does not manage people, recruit, or handle HR functions. It is a technical product role in finance. Since 'Engineering' is a parent category with specific child roles like Data Engineer, Full-Stack Engineer, etc., and this role involves building financial systems with AI-assisted coding, prototyping, and direct code commits, it aligns most closely with Software Engineering under the Engineering parent. The title 'Lead' and focus on shipping working code, translating finance needs into software, and leading engineers through prototypes fits a hands-on technical leadership role in software development. Therefore, the correct categorization is Software Engineering under Engineering.
