- • Support Department of Defense financial management initiatives with expertise in financial audit statements and audit readiness services.
- • Apply knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), Generally Accepted Government Auditing Standards (GAGAS), and Internal Control Over Financial Reporting (ICOFR) to federal financial operations.
- • Provide enterprise-wide audit remediation and sustainment strategy support, including governance meeting content development and recurring FIAR reporting.
- • Assist in developing and maintaining DoD-wide audit infrastructure, including the Management Recommended Audit Plan, consolidated audit coordination, and audit liaison functions.
- • Deliver remediation expertise support through participation in Audit Remediation and Sustainment Working Group meetings.
- • Analyze and improve compliance with federal accounting and auditing standards within Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems.
- • Interpret and apply Office of Management and Budget (OMB) policies and federal financial management systems to client engagements.
- • Support financial statement audit remediation and sustainment execution, including oversight, reporting, and audit infrastructure enhancement.
- • Work with DoD organizational structures and financial policies to ensure alignment with federal compliance requirements.
- • Collaborate on financial management projects involving General Equipment, Inventory, Real Property, IGT (AP/AR), and OM&S systems.
- • Deliver high-quality deliverables in a remote environment with no travel required.
- • Maintain strict adherence to federal security protocols and confidentiality requirements related to classified financial data.
- • Contribute to continuous improvement of audit processes and financial controls across DoD financial operations.
- • Engage in cross-functional teams to ensure audit readiness and financial accountability across multiple DoD components.
- • Prepare and review documentation for audit compliance, internal controls, and financial reporting standards.
- • Provide subject matter expertise on federal financial management policies and procedures to internal and client stakeholders.
- • Support the development of audit strategies, risk assessments, and control frameworks tailored to DoD financial environments.
- • Ensure all deliverables meet federal audit standards and are aligned with DoD financial management directives.
🎯 Requirements
- • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Federal or DoD SECRET security clearance; active SECRET or higher clearance preferred
- • Bachelor’s degree in a STEM discipline
- • Ten (10) years of experience in financial management, specifically auditing financial statements of government agencies or preparing for audit
- • Knowledge of GAAP, GAGAS, ICOFR, and DoD financial management policies/structures, with experience in General Equipment, Inventory, Real Property, IGT (AP/AR), or OM&S
