đź“‹ Description
- • As a Forward Deploy - Senior Security Engineer at A.Team, you will be instrumental in establishing and owning the security posture for our cutting-edge AI solutions platform. This is a foundational, zero-to-one role where your expertise will directly shape how we secure our operations and enable Fortune 500 clients to confidently adopt transformative AI technologies. Your primary responsibility will be to architect, implement, and maintain a robust security framework that meets the stringent demands of enterprise-level clients, ensuring compliance, data protection, and operational resilience.
- • You will take the lead on Platform Security and Infrastructure, dedicating approximately 50% of your time to this critical area. This involves designing the end-to-end security architecture for our AI solutions platform. Key responsibilities include defining and implementing comprehensive identity management strategies, robust access controls, stringent encryption protocols for data at rest and in transit, and sophisticated network security measures. A significant part of this will be designing and implementing enterprise-grade Role-Based Access Control (RBAC) systems, with a strong emphasis on seamless integration with common client identity providers such as Azure Active Directory and Okta. You will also be pivotal in shaping and executing our multi-cloud security strategy, ensuring a consistent and high level of security across our current AWS environment and our expanding Azure footprint.
- • Hands-on infrastructure engineering using modern Infrastructure as Code (IaC) practices is a core component. You will build and maintain secure infrastructure leveraging tools like Terraform CDK, and manage containerized environments using Kubernetes (EKS and AKS). This includes implementing advanced secrets management solutions, ensuring data is encrypted securely throughout its lifecycle, and securing our Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) pipelines to prevent vulnerabilities from reaching production.
- • A substantial portion of your role, around 30%, will focus on Compliance and Governance. You will be responsible for maintaining and enhancing our SOC 2 Type II compliance program, working closely with tools like Vanta for continuous monitoring and ensuring audit readiness. Driving alignment with ISO 27001 standards and preparing for certification will be crucial as we grow our enterprise client base. You will conduct thorough security reviews for all new features, integrations, and client deployments, ensuring security is embedded from the outset. Establishing clear Service Level Agreements (SLAs) and reporting cadences for security operations will be essential. Furthermore, you will create and maintain comprehensive security documentation, including policies, standards, and runbooks, specifically tailored to meet the rigorous procurement requirements of enterprise clients. You will also collaborate closely with our legal and operations teams on vendor security assessments, responding to client security questionnaires, and managing Data Processing Agreements (DPAs).
- • The remaining 20% of your time will be dedicated to Operations and Reliability. This includes establishing and refining security monitoring, alerting, and incident response procedures to ensure swift and effective handling of any security events. You will be a key member of the on-call rotation, ready to respond to critical security incidents. Leading our vulnerability management program is also a key responsibility, encompassing regular scanning, diligent prioritization of identified risks, and tracking remediation efforts. You will provide regular, clear weekly security status updates to engineering leadership and contribute to crafting client-facing security communications, building trust and transparency. A vital aspect of this role involves mentoring other engineers on secure development practices and conducting security-focused code reviews to foster a security-aware culture across the engineering team.
- • This role offers a unique opportunity to build a security program from the ground up in a fast-paced, high-growth startup environment. You will be the primary owner of our platform's security, directly impacting our ability to serve large enterprise clients and drive revenue. Your work will ensure that A.Team's AI solutions are not only innovative but also exceptionally secure and compliant, allowing our leadership and clients to operate with confidence.
🎯 Requirements
- • 5+ years of experience in security engineering, DevSecOps, or infrastructure security roles, with a minimum of 2 years at a senior level.
- • Proven experience in building security programs from scratch or significantly maturing existing programs within a growth-stage company.
- • Deep expertise with AWS security services (e.g., IAM, KMS, Security Hub, GuardDuty) and infrastructure-as-code (Terraform strongly preferred).
- • Hands-on experience with Kubernetes security, including network policies, RBAC, secrets management, and service mesh.
- • Demonstrated track record of achieving and maintaining compliance certifications such as SOC 2, ISO 27001, HIPAA, or similar.
🏖️ Benefits
- • Remote-first culture with a global team, emphasizing flexibility and outcomes over hours.
- • Significant ownership and impact: Build the security function from the ground up, defining processes, choosing tools, and shaping the security culture.
- • Growth opportunities: Potential to grow into a Head of Security or CISO path as the company scales rapidly.
- • Collaborative team environment: Work alongside experienced leaders from top tech companies and enterprise backgrounds.
- • Direct impact on enterprise AI adoption: Your work is a revenue driver, enabling Fortune 500 companies to securely leverage AI.
