📋 Description

• As a Forward Deployed Engineer at ShipBob, you will embed directly within operational teams to eliminate manual, repetitive, and error-prone workflows by designing and deploying AI-driven automation solutions that bridge the gap between engineering and real-world business processes.
• You will own the full lifecycle of automation projects—observing workflows, prototyping solutions, validating with domain experts, hardening systems, and productionizing reliable AI agents using code, APIs, and CLI-based agent tools like Claude Code and Codex.
• You will collaborate closely with Product and Engineering teams when integrations touch core systems, while operating independently to rapidly iterate and ship micro-automations to large-scale AI workflows that reduce friction and increase operational efficiency.

• In this role, you’ll deepen your expertise in AI agent development, full-stack engineering (Python, TypeScript, REST APIs), observability, and automation at scale—gaining hands-on experience translating cutting-edge AI into tangible operational outcomes while contributing reusable modules to ShipBob’s Automation Hub.

🎯 Requirements

• 1-5 years of experience building AI agents that automate real workflows and eliminate manual work
• Deep proficiency in Python, TypeScript (Node/React), and relational databases
• Designed and built multiple RESTful APIs from scratch
• Proficiency with CLI tools; must use CLI-based agents (Claude Code, Codex) as primary workflow
• Experience with observability platforms (logging, tracing, monitoring agents in production)
