- • Partner directly with clients to translate ambiguous business problems into production-ready AI systems, focusing on the data infrastructure that enables real-world AI applications
- • Design and build robust ETL/ELT pipelines using Airflow, Snowflake, BigQuery, and Databricks to ensure high-quality, available data for AI models
- • Implement end-to-end Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) pipelines including data ingestion, chunking, embedding generation, vector store management, and retrieval optimization
- • Develop agentic workflows using frameworks such as Claude Agent SDK, LangGraph, or equivalent tools, incorporating tool use, planning, and multi-step orchestration
- • Build production-grade LLM applications including chat interfaces, copilots, agents, and back-office automation using models like Claude, GPT, and open-source alternatives
- • Create evaluation suites and guardrails to measure and ensure the safety, quality, cost, and latency of deployed AI systems
- • Integrate AI components into clients’ existing software environments via REST/GraphQL APIs, event streams, and cloud-native services on AWS, Azure, or GCP
- • Conduct rapid prototyping sprints with clients to deliver demo-able AI solutions within days, then iterate toward production-grade deployment
- • Document system architectures, share technical learnings, and contribute to internal accelerators and reference implementations to strengthen the broader NextLink AI practice
- • Operate in a consultative capacity, asking clarifying questions, managing ambiguity, and maintaining direct client engagement throughout the project lifecycle
- • Work closely with AI Architects to ensure technical alignment and scalable deployment of AI solutions in client environments
- • Ensure observability of non-deterministic AI systems through proper instrumentation, testing, and monitoring practices
- • Maintain strong written and verbal English communication to present technical work to both engineering teams and non-technical stakeholders
- • Collaborate in a remote-first, async-heavy environment with clear documentation, PR reviews, and written updates
- • Maintain significant overlap with US Eastern Time (ET) to support client engagements and team collaboration
- • Contribute to internal tooling and reference implementations to improve the efficiency and scalability of NextLink’s AI practice across engagements
🎯 Requirements
- • 3–5 years of professional software engineering experience, with at least 1 year shipping AI/ML or LLM-based features to production
- • Strong Python skills; comfort with at least one of TypeScript/JavaScript, Go, or Java for integration work
- • Hands-on experience building applications with modern LLM APIs (Anthropic, OpenAI, Azure OpenAI, AWS Bedrock, etc.)
- • Background with data engineering tooling such as dbt, Airflow, Dagster, Snowflake, BigQuery, or Databricks
- • Working knowledge of RAG patterns, embedding models, and at least one vector store (pgvector, Pinecone, Weaviate, OpenSearch, etc.)
- • Solid grasp of one major cloud platform (AWS, Azure, or GCP), including how to deploy containerized services and manage secrets/IAM
