đź“‹ Description
- • Fundamental is at the forefront of revolutionizing enterprise decision-making through advanced AI, specifically with our groundbreaking Large Tabular Model (LTM) called NEXUS. NEXUS is engineered to process the structured data that is the lifeblood of business operations, unlocking immense value and enabling companies to predict outcomes with unprecedented accuracy. As a category-defining company backed by top-tier investors and trusted by Fortune 100 enterprises, we offer a unique opportunity to shape the future of enterprise AI from its inception.
- • As a Forward Deployed Machine Learning Engineer, you will be a critical player in our Forward Deployed Engineering (FDE) team. Your primary mission will be to ensure the successful adoption and seamless integration of Fundamental's products within our clients' environments. This role is pivotal in demonstrating the tangible value of our solutions, whether by outperforming existing legacy systems or enabling entirely new use cases.
- • You will engage directly with customers, guiding them through the entire lifecycle from initial Proof of Value (PoV) assessments to full-scale post-implementation deployment. A key aspect of your role will be ensuring our solutions operate securely and efficiently within the client's production infrastructure, acting as the technical expert on the ground.
- • This position requires you to manage complex customer relationships, interacting with a diverse range of stakeholders including IT departments, C-suite executives, and data science teams. You will serve as an essential conduit, translating real-world operational challenges and customer feedback into actionable insights that directly inform and shape our product roadmap and future development.
- • A significant part of your responsibility will involve independently driving the deployment of use cases that deliver substantial business impact. You will transition these from initial conceptualization and experimental phases to fully realized solutions that demonstrate clear Return on Investment (ROI).
- • You will conduct rigorous head-to-head benchmarking exercises, meticulously comparing NEXUS's performance against client-defined baselines, such as XGBoost and LightGBM. This involves leading the end-to-end execution of data engineering tasks, sophisticated feature engineering, and robust validation strategies to prove our model's superiority.
- • Collaboration is key. You will work closely with our esteemed research and product teams, acting as the voice of the customer. By identifying operational pain points, diagnosing data anomalies, and understanding specific deployment challenges, you will provide essential input that directly influences the direction of the Fundamental product roadmap.
- • You will be instrumental in developing and executing technical strategies tailored to specific business problems. This includes proactively identifying potential pitfalls, implementing measures to prevent data leakage, and expertly handling the complexities of "last mile" integration, which may involve navigating Virtual Private Clouds (VPCs), on-premises infrastructure, or air-gapped environments.
- • Your close collaboration with our Sales and Solutions Architect teams will be vital in aligning diverse stakeholder expectations and effectively communicating the value proposition of our advanced AI models. A crucial skill will be your ability to demystify complex, potentially "black box" predictions and translate them into clear, understandable business value for non-technical audiences.
- • This role offers the chance to work on cutting-edge machine learning technologies and contribute to a product that has the potential to transform how the world's largest companies operate and make critical decisions. You will be empowered to take ownership, drive innovation, and make a significant impact in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.
- • You will be responsible for the technical success of customer engagements, ensuring that our ML solutions are not only performant but also robust, scalable, and aligned with the client's strategic objectives. This includes troubleshooting, performance tuning, and providing ongoing technical support to ensure customer satisfaction and retention.
- • Furthermore, you will contribute to the development of best practices and reusable components for model deployment and MLOps, helping to scale our FDE capabilities as the company grows. Your insights into common deployment challenges will be invaluable in refining our internal processes and tooling.
- • The ideal candidate is a proactive problem-solver with a passion for applied machine learning and a strong desire to see their work translate into real-world business outcomes. You thrive in dynamic environments and are eager to learn and adapt to new technologies and customer needs.
