📋 Description

• As a Founding Engineer at Zeit AI, you will be at the forefront of a revolution in how businesses interact with data and complex workflows. We are building the next generation of agentic machinery, leveraging the transformative power of Large Language Models (LLMs) to unlock the potential of Europe's Small and Medium-sized Enterprises (SMEs). This is a unique opportunity to treat ZeitMind, our core product, as your own, shaping its evolution from the ground up and defining how non-technical users engage with data, automate processes, and solve unforeseen business challenges.
• Your role will be pivotal in making critical product decisions in an environment of inherent uncertainty. You will be responsible for building robust, scalable, and durable foundational systems that will underpin our future growth. A key aspect of this position involves direct iteration based on real-world user feedback and usage patterns, ensuring that what we build is not only technically sound but also deeply impactful and practical.
• You will operate across the entire product lifecycle. This includes forming initial hypotheses and assumptions about user needs and market opportunities, developing and shipping production-ready systems, rigorously validating the outcomes of your work, and refining our strategic direction based on empirical evidence. This end-to-end ownership is central to our philosophy and essential for driving meaningful progress.
• We are looking for individuals who are comfortable navigating ambiguity and thrive in situations where predefined specifications are scarce. You will take full ownership of your outcomes, seeing projects through from the initial ideation phase to production deployment and ultimately to demonstrable user impact. This requires a proactive mindset and a commitment to delivering tangible results.
• Your thinking should be geared towards systems and products. Code is viewed as a tool to create leverage and achieve business objectives, rather than an end in itself. You should be adept at forming strong, testable assumptions, validating them rapidly, and demonstrating the intellectual honesty to discard them when confronted with conflicting real-world data.
• A deep empathy for how users actually work is crucial. You will be designing solutions that cater to their workflows, challenges, and aspirations, ensuring that our technology is intuitive, accessible, and genuinely helpful to non-technical professionals.
• This role is ideal for someone who prefers building solid foundations early in a product's lifecycle rather than focusing on optimizing mature, established systems. Your contributions will lay the groundwork for future scalability and innovation.
• We expect strong full-stack experience, with a mandatory requirement for proficiency in TypeScript and React. You should be comfortable owning and managing data-heavy production systems from end to end, encompassing both frontend and backend development, database management, and deployment.
• A genuine passion for the data and agentic space, coupled with a keen interest in how LLMs can enable entirely new workflows for non-technical users, is essential. You should be excited by the prospect of democratizing access to powerful analytical and operational tools.
• As part of an engineering-driven company, you will experience a high degree of autonomy, minimal bureaucratic process, and rapid iteration cycles. You will work closely with users and our Forward-Deployed Team, gaining invaluable insights that directly inform your development efforts.
• While Munich is our primary hub and we value frequent in-person collaboration, we are open to discussing alternative work setups for candidates who can present a compelling case. We offer support for relocation and organize regular off-site events in San Francisco for product sprints and to stay abreast of cutting-edge advancements.

• Strong full-stack development experience with demonstrable proficiency in TypeScript and React.
• Experience building and managing data-heavy production systems end-to-end.
