📋 Description

• As a Founding Product Designer at Baba, you will be instrumental in shaping the very foundation of our healthcare platform, designed to revolutionize how older adults navigate the complexities of healthcare. This is a unique opportunity to be the sole design voice in an early-stage, fast-paced startup, working directly alongside the founder and engineering team to bring our vision to life. You will be responsible for crafting intuitive, AI-driven, and data-rich dashboards that serve a diverse user base, including patients, their families, expert advocates (nurses and social workers), and care teams.
• Your primary focus will be on designing information-dense dashboards that present critical health information clearly and concisely. This involves translating complex medical data and workflows into easily digestible interfaces. You will meticulously map out user journeys, ensuring seamless navigation and efficient task completion for all user types. This includes designing features that streamline healthcare processes, such as appointment scheduling, medication management, insurance appeals, and coordination of care services.
• A significant aspect of this role involves creating intuitive user flows and features tailored to the specific needs of healthcare workflows. You will need to deeply understand the challenges faced by older adults and their caregivers, as well as the operational demands on healthcare professionals. This empathy-driven design approach will ensure that the Baba platform is not only functional but also compassionate and supportive.
• You will collaborate closely with the engineering and product teams, fostering a rapid iteration cycle. This means being able to quickly translate concepts into tangible designs, gather feedback, and implement improvements efficiently. Your ability to balance usability, regulatory requirements (especially within the healthcare space), and technical constraints will be crucial for shipping high-quality products on time.
• Beyond the core platform, you will also be responsible for designing adjacent touchpoints that support the business's growth and user acquisition. This may include designing marketing web pages, promotional materials, and other digital assets that effectively communicate Baba's value proposition and attract new users and partners.
• The ideal candidate is a senior designer who is comfortable operating autonomously as a team of one, capable of making strong, independent decisions while also knowing when to seek input. You possess a systems-thinking mindset, enabling you to simplify complex problems and design scalable solutions that cater to multiple user personas and their distinct needs.
• An entrepreneurial spirit is essential. You should be flexible, pragmatic, and thrive in ambiguous environments, demonstrating a bias for action and the ability to move quickly without sacrificing quality. Your communication skills will be paramount; you must be able to articulate your design rationale clearly, present compelling product intuition, and effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams.
• We are looking for someone who has ideally worked in environments that foster strong product-led growth and system-oriented design. Previous experience at companies like Mercury, Anthropic, Stripe, Ramp, Notion, Clay, Palantir, Commure, Abridge, Carbon Health, Forward, Ro, or Cityblock would be highly advantageous, as these organizations often emphasize sophisticated product design and complex problem-solving.
• This role demands full-stack product design capabilities, with a preference for experience in B2B SaaS, health-tech, or products dealing with significant amounts of data. Your UX/UI execution must be exceptionally strong, with a proven track record in designing effective dashboards and complex workflows. You must demonstrate an ability to design within tight constraints, whether they are technical limitations, regulatory hurdles, or aggressive timelines.
• Ultimately, you will be a key architect of Baba's user experience, directly impacting the lives of older adults and their families by making healthcare more accessible, understandable, and manageable. Your work will be at the forefront of innovation in elder care, blending technology with human empathy to create a truly impactful solution.

🎯 Requirements

• Full-stack product design experience, with a strong preference for B2B SaaS, health-tech, or data-heavy product environments.
• Proven expertise in UX/UI execution, particularly in designing complex dashboards and healthcare workflows.
• Demonstrated ability to operate independently as a senior designer, making strong, autonomous decisions.
• Systems thinking capability to simplify complexity and design for multiple user types within a regulated industry.
• Entrepreneurial mindset, flexibility, and pragmatism to thrive in an early-stage, ambiguous environment and iterate quickly.
• Strong communication skills with clear design rationale and product intuition.
• Previous experience at companies known for strong product-led growth and system-oriented design (e.g., Mercury, Anthropic, Stripe, Ramp, Notion, Clay, Palantir, Commure, Abridge, Carbon Health, Forward, Ro, Cityblock) is a significant plus.
