Full Job Description
đź“‹ Description
- • As Kernel’s Founding Product Designer, you will be the first dedicated design hire responsible for shaping the end-to-end user experience of an AI-powered RevOps platform used by enterprise teams at companies like Navan, Gong, and AlphaSense. Your work will directly impact how users interact with complex data systems, transforming intricate workflows into intuitive, confidence-building experiences that drive adoption and efficiency.
- • You will own the full product design lifecycle — from discovery to delivery — including user research, information architecture, interaction design, visual design, and prototyping. Daily responsibilities include conducting user interviews to uncover ground-truth needs, synthesizing insights into actionable design decisions, creating high-fidelity prototypes in Figma or similar tools, collaborating closely with engineers and product managers to ship features rapidly, and establishing foundational design principles and patterns that scale with the product without introducing overhead.
- • You will join a small, high-impact engineering-led team that has built a minimalist yet massively scalable infrastructure processing over 7B tokens and 1.8M AI agents daily — comparable to Visa-level transaction volumes. The company operates with intense focus, speed, and trust, prioritizing shipping over perfection and valuing designers who can think critically, move fast, and elevate product quality through simplicity.
- • In this role, you will have the rare opportunity to define the design culture and standards at an early-stage, VC-backed startup with $14M in Series A funding. You’ll grow your impact by working directly with founders, influencing product strategy through design, and seeing your contributions ship quickly into the hands of enterprise users — all while developing expertise in AI-powered B2B SaaS and enterprise UX at scale.
🎯 Requirements
- • Proven experience shipping meaningful product work in early-stage startup environments, with the ability to articulate design decisions, trade-offs, and measurable outcomes.
- • Strong skills in simplifying complex systems through user-centered design, including user research, information architecture, interaction design, and visual craft — not just UI polishing.
- • Proficiency in modern design tools (Figma, prototyping tools like v0 or Figma Make) and the ability to move quickly from insight to high-signal prototype to production-ready design.
- • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with a track record of working tightly with engineers and product managers in fast-paced, iterative environments.
- • Comfort working autonomously and taking ownership of ambiguous problems — able to run discovery independently and drive toward clarity without needing constant direction.
🏖️ Benefits
- • Competitive salary range of £120,000–£180,000 base + equity participation in a high-growth, VC-backed startup.
- • 24 days of annual holiday plus bank holidays, plus 2 weeks of work-from-anywhere flexibility per year.
- • Comprehensive benefits including employer pension plan, top-spec equipment, and access to a central London office with free dinner provided on-site.
- • High-autonomy, high-trust culture with direct access to founders and the opportunity to shape both product and company culture from the ground up.
- • Visa sponsorship and relocation support available for exceptional candidates moving to London.
