  • • Vana, Inc. is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Fraud Prevention Analyst to join our dynamic team in Guatemala. This pivotal role is designed for an individual with hands-on experience in transactional fraud prevention, tasked with spearheading the strategy, operation, and continuous evolution of our robust fraud prevention model. Your primary objective will be to safeguard our valued customers, optimize the payment experience, and uphold the highest security standards across our operations. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including Fraud Management, Compliance, Credit Cards, and Data, to design data-driven rule strategies, meticulously monitor key performance indicators (KPIs), and proactively identify emerging fraud patterns across diverse markets.
  • • As a Fraud Prevention Analyst, your responsibilities will encompass the entire lifecycle of fraud mitigation. You will be instrumental in creating, calibrating, and continuously monitoring our anti-fraud rules, ensuring they remain effective against evolving threats. A core aspect of this role involves designing and implementing dynamic rule strategies, leveraging your proven expertise to adapt to new fraud typologies and business needs. This includes the critical task of continuously calibrating rule thresholds by evaluating key metrics such as fraud rates, false positive rates, and approval rates, striking a delicate balance between security and customer experience.
  • • You will define and implement risk-based strategies for blocking transactions, managing 3D Secure (3DS) authentication, and approving legitimate payments, tailoring responses to the specific risk level of each transaction. Leading the end-to-end transactional monitoring process will be a key duty, encompassing both automated decision-making and manual review of suspicious activities. Your analytical insights will drive proposals for adjustments to anti-fraud rules and controls, including modifications to thresholds, lists (e.g., velocity, country, currency, MCC), and segmentation strategies. You will also actively support controlled testing of these changes, ensuring complete traceability and measurable impact.
  • • A significant part of your role will involve the continuous updating and optimization of the fraud prevention model. This requires a proactive approach to understanding new fraud vectors and adapting our defenses accordingly. You will be responsible for diligently monitoring and reporting on critical fraud KPIs and performance metrics, providing clear, concise, and actionable insights to stakeholders. This includes tracking fraud rates, approval rates, and false positive rates, and using this data to inform strategic decisions and operational adjustments.
  • • Furthermore, you will play a crucial role in investigating fraud cases and alerts, meticulously documenting evidence to support dispute resolution and chargeback processes. Your ability to translate complex data into clear recommendations will be essential for coordinating changes and improvements with our Operations and Technology teams. The ideal candidate will possess a self-starter mentality, thrive in dynamic, fast-paced environments, and demonstrate a strong aptitude for problem-solving. While not strictly mandatory, a foundational understanding of consumer behavior, alternative data sources, and digital lending platforms would be a valuable asset, enabling you to anticipate future challenges and opportunities in the fraud landscape.
  • • This position offers a unique opportunity to make a significant impact on Vana, Inc.'s security posture and customer trust. You will be at the forefront of combating financial crime, contributing directly to the company's success and the protection of its users. Your work will directly influence the efficiency and effectiveness of our payment systems, ensuring a seamless and secure experience for all. We are looking for an individual who is passionate about fraud prevention, possesses strong analytical skills, and is eager to grow within a leading Fintech company.
