📋 Description

• As a Full Stack AI Engineer (Staff level) at Pareto AI, you will serve as a technical leader shaping the architecture and execution of AI-driven systems that enable global talent to contribute to cutting-edge model development. Your work will directly impact the company’s ability to scale revenue without proportional headcount growth by building innovative, reliable, and automated solutions that reduce manual overhead.
• You will own end-to-end system design for complex AI applications, lead critical architectural decisions, and establish engineering standards that balance speed with quality, ensuring the team can innovate rapidly while maintaining robustness in production environments.
• Day to day, you will: lead high-stakes system design discussions and act as the go-to authority for architectural tradeoffs; rapidly assess the technical feasibility of AI product ideas and produce concise scoping documents to prevent scope creep; define and evolve technology stacks, reusable frameworks, and engineering guidelines to enable consistent, high-quality delivery; build and validate prototypes through stakeholder-aligned experimentation to determine go/no-go decisions; collaborate closely with research, operations, and data teams to translate evolving needs into actionable technical plans; drive excellence by establishing evaluation practices that measure the real-world effectiveness of AI applications; mentor engineers through technical guidance and example; and continuously learn across adjacent domains to remain effective at the intersection of AI, software engineering, and systems design.
• You will join a mission-driven AI Strategy team composed of top talent from Anthropic, Character.AI, Imbue, Stanford, and the University of Pennsylvania, united by a commitment to building fair, ethical, and scalable platforms for AI development. The team operates at the forefront of innovation, focusing on automation and system design to unlock global participation in AI training while maintaining rigorous standards for quality and responsibility.
• In this role, you will deepen your expertise in production-grade AI systems, including agentic workflows, human-in-the-loop pipelines, RAG, and multi-model LLM stacks; strengthen your leadership in system design and cross-functional influence; gain hands-on experience shaping technology strategy at the intersection of AI and software engineering; and contribute to meaningful outcomes that enable skilled workers worldwide to participate in the AI economy.

🎯 Requirements

• 10+ years of software engineering experience with a proven track record of owning complex systems end-to-end at a staff or equivalent level
• Strong full-stack software engineering background with extensive hands-on experience in AI/ML contexts, prioritizing systems thinking, architecture, and engineering tradeoffs over pure data science
• Significant experience building and shipping production AI systems including agentic workflows, multi-agent orchestration, human-in-the-loop (HITL) pipelines, and LLM-powered applications with measurable business outcomes
