📋 Description

• As a Gen AI Engineer at PDI Technologies Inc., you will play a pivotal role in advancing the company’s mission to ‘Connect Convenience’ by designing, building, and validating intelligent AI-driven platform capabilities that empower leading convenience retail and petroleum brands with real-time market intelligence, loyalty programs, and shopper insights through innovative solutions like GasBuddy. Your work will directly contribute to scalable, reliable, and safe AI systems that enhance decision-making and operational efficiency for global clients.
• You will design, develop, and deploy generative AI solutions including large language models (LLMs), Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) architectures, and vector-based systems, integrating them into scalable platform services that enable automation, contextual insights, and intelligent decision-making across PDI’s technology stack.
• You will establish rigorous evaluation frameworks for AI models, implementing automated testing strategies to assess accuracy, reliability, bias, and safety of AI-generated outputs, ensuring compliance with quality and ethical standards before deployment.
• You will build and maintain CI/CD pipelines with embedded continuous testing for AI components, leveraging QA automation expertise to validate model performance, data drift, and integration stability across development, staging, and production environments.
• You will collaborate closely with data scientists, software engineers, product managers, and DevOps teams to translate AI prototypes into production-ready features, ensuring seamless integration with existing platforms and adherence to architectural best practices.
• You will monitor and optimize AI system performance in production, tracking key metrics such as latency, hallucination rates, retrieval relevance, and user feedback, and initiating retraining or fine-tuning cycles based on empirical evidence.
• You will contribute to internal knowledge sharing by documenting AI model architectures, evaluation protocols, and testing methodologies, fostering a culture of transparency, reproducibility, and continuous learning within the AI engineering team.
• You will stay current with emerging trends in generative AI, including multimodal models, agentic systems, and prompt engineering techniques, evaluating their applicability to PDI’s use cases and recommending innovation pathways.

🎯 Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, or a related technical field, with strong foundational knowledge in deep learning, natural language processing, and statistical modeling.
• Proven experience in designing, implementing, and deploying generative AI systems, including hands-on work with LLMs (e.g., GPT, Llama, Claude), RAG pipelines, and vector databases (e.g., FAISS, Pinecone, Weaviate).
• Solid background in Quality Engineering or QA automation, with expertise in designing test frameworks, writing automated tests (unit, integration, end-to-end), and integrating testing into CI/CD pipelines using tools like Jenkins, GitLab CI, or GitHub Actions.
• Proficiency in Python and experience with AI/ML libraries such as TensorFlow, PyTorch, Hugging Face Transformers, LangChain, and LlamaIndex for model development and experimentation.
• Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP), containerization (Docker, Kubernetes), and microservices architecture for deploying scalable AI services.
• Strong analytical mindset with the ability to evaluate AI model outputs critically, define meaningful evaluation metrics (e.g., BLEU, ROUGE, faithfulness, relevance), and iterate based on quantitative and qualitative feedback.
