- • This is a unique opportunity for experienced Software Engineers of all levels to contribute to a growing hub, taking on meaningful ownership, tackling deep technical challenges, and helping to establish the engineering standards as the team expands. - • As a Software Engineer within our Life Sciences Tech Hub, you will play a pivotal role in designing and building sophisticated systems. These systems will enable secure, privacy-preserving access to high-quality healthcare data, utilized by pharmaceutical companies, biotech innovators, and research organizations globally. Your contributions will directly support the development of novel therapies, accelerate clinical trials, and ultimately improve patient outcomes by ensuring data interoperability, scalability, and trustworthiness.

- • For Senior Software Engineers, this role involves end-to-end project ownership. You will be responsible for shaping technical designs, building scalable and reliable services, collaborating closely with product managers and cross-functional teams, and contributing to the strengthening of engineering practices as our Barcelona hub grows.
- • Your work will involve leveraging Datavant’s core technologies, demonstrating fluency across the technology stack, and applying architectural experience to design systems that are scalable, reliable, secure, and maintainable.
- • You will contribute to the development and enhancement of our data collaboration platform, focusing on areas such as data ingestion, transformation, security, and access control.
- • Collaborate with product management to understand user needs and translate them into technical requirements and robust software solutions.
- • Design and implement APIs and services that facilitate secure data sharing and analysis for our clients in the life sciences sector.
- • Write clean, efficient, and well-documented code in languages such as Java, Python, TypeScript, or Scala.
- • Develop and maintain data pipelines using big data technologies like Apache Spark, Databricks, and Snowflake.
- • Contribute to the architecture and development of our front-end applications using frameworks like React.
- • Ensure the performance, quality, and responsiveness of applications.
- • Troubleshoot, debug, and upgrade existing systems.
- • Participate in code reviews to maintain code quality and share knowledge with the team.
- • Stay up-to-date with emerging technologies and industry best practices, and advocate for their adoption where appropriate.
- • Contribute to the continuous improvement of our development processes and tooling.
- • Work with infrastructure and operations teams to deploy and manage applications on AWS, utilizing Kubernetes for container orchestration.

🎯 Requirements
- • Proven experience as a Software Engineer, with a strong understanding of software development principles and best practices.
- • Proficiency in at least one of the following programming languages: Java, Python, TypeScript, or Scala.
- • Experience with big data processing technologies such as Apache Spark, Databricks, or Snowflake.
- • Familiarity with cloud platforms, particularly AWS, and containerization technologies like Kubernetes.
- • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to design and implement scalable, reliable, and secure software solutions.
- • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- • Experience with front-end frameworks like React is a plus.
- • Familiarity with database technologies (e.g., MySQL) and version control systems (e.g., GitHub) is beneficial.
