- • The Gigamon Network Engineer role at GuidePoint Security is critical for enabling full packet-level visibility across classified Defense Intelligence Agency (DIA) enclaves and mission networks, directly supporting intelligence community cybersecurity operations by detecting threats, analyzing anomalies, and expanding sensor coverage to protect national security systems.
- • Day-to-day responsibilities include deploying, configuring, and sustaining Gigamon GigaVUE HC-3, T-10, and HD-Series packet brokers; designing TAP/SPAN architectures; administering GigaVUE Fabric Manager for policy and traffic management; integrating Gigamon outputs with SIEM, IDS/IPS, and full-packet capture platforms; delivering enriched traffic feeds for threat hunting; supporting SOC analysts during incident response with packet-level data; architecting and documenting sensor grid topologies; developing SOPs and runbooks; briefing findings to DIA government leads; and mentoring junior engineers on platform operations and IC cybersecurity practices.

- • In this role, the engineer will gain hands-on experience with advanced network visibility technologies in high-stakes classified environments, develop expertise in DoD/IC cybersecurity frameworks (RMF, ICD 503, DISA STIGs), enhance leadership and communication skills through briefings to senior government personnel, and contribute directly to mission-critical threat detection efforts targeting advanced persistent threats and insider threats.
🎯 Requirements
- • 5-7 years of hands-on experience in network engineering, network security engineering, or a closely related discipline within a DoD or IC environment
- • Demonstrated experience deploying and operating Gigamon appliances (GigaVUE HC, T-Series, HD-Series, or equivalent) in production networks
- • Active Top Secret / SCI clearance with a current Counterintelligence (CI) Polygraph — required at time of hire; no exceptions
