Full Job Description
📋 Description
- • Fluidstack is at the forefront of building the infrastructure for abundant intelligence, partnering with leading AI labs, governments, and enterprises to accelerate the realization of AGI. We are seeking a highly motivated and results-oriented Global Logistics Lead to architect and implement the comprehensive strategy for moving, storing, and delivering materials across our entire global supply chain.
- • This pivotal role demands the creation of a robust transportation network design, the meticulous selection and management of third-party (3PL) and fourth-party (4PL) logistics partners, and the establishment of scalable warehousing and fulfillment strategies. You will be instrumental in setting the operational standards that will support Fluidstack's rapid national and international expansion.
- • The core challenge of this position lies in managing the complex logistics inherent in building large-scale computing infrastructure. This involves overseeing thousands of Stock Keeping Units (SKUs), navigating multi-vendor and multi-national supply chains, coordinating global deployments, and ensuring the secure and timely delivery of client-designated materials under strict contractual custody requirements. The objective is to ensure all components arrive precisely when and where needed, in the correct sequence, and without any unforeseen issues.
- • You will be tasked with building and refining our logistics capabilities while simultaneously managing ongoing operations, a true "build the plane while flying" scenario. This role requires close collaboration and direct interface with key internal departments, including Supply Chain, Program Management, Procurement, Finance, and onsite operations teams. You will serve as the ultimate owner for all logistical activities from the point of Purchase Order (PO) release through to final on-site delivery.
- • The ideal candidate will possess a proven understanding of high-speed, large-scale logistics operations and be eager to establish these processes from the ground up within a dynamic, fast-growing company where strategic decisions have significant compounding effects.
- • Key Responsibilities:
- • Develop and own Fluidstack’s end-to-end transportation strategy, encompassing all modes of transport (ocean, air, land) for the efficient movement of Data Center (DC) equipment, servers, networking hardware, and all associated materials to global datacenter sites.
- • Design optimized transportation lane and carrier strategies that meticulously balance cost-effectiveness, lead time reduction, and risk mitigation across a complex, multi-geography, and multi-site deployment pipeline.
- • Proactively evaluate, select, and rigorously manage relationships with carriers and freight forwarders. This includes negotiating favorable rates and Service Level Agreements (SLAs), and holding partners accountable for meeting stringent performance metrics.
- • Architect and implement robust contingency routing and escalation protocols to address time-critical or high-value shipments, ensuring minimal disruption and rapid problem resolution.
- • Define and implement Fluidstack’s comprehensive warehousing and fulfillment model, making strategic decisions on which capabilities to develop internally versus outsource, and structuring 3PL/4PL relationships to facilitate rapid site deployments in new and existing geographies.
- • Lead the selection, onboarding, and ongoing management of 3PL/4PL partners. This involves establishing clear SLAs, Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), and contractual accountability frameworks, while actively driving continuous improvement in areas such as receiving accuracy, cycle count performance, throughput, and cost-per-unit.
- • Conduct thorough evaluations of build-versus-buy decisions for central warehouse capacity as Fluidstack’s operational footprint and site expansion accelerates.
- • Establish and enforce operating standards for all Fluidstack-managed and 3PL-operated warehouse locations. This includes defining receiving protocols, location control methodologies, storage rules, and precise inventory segregation procedures for both company-owned and client-designated compute hardware, alongside implementing cycle count cadences designed to achieve and maintain greater than 99% inventory accuracy.
- • Own and govern the custody protocols for all client-designated materials, ensuring comprehensive chain-of-custody documentation, robust audit trail requirements, and secure handoff procedures are meticulously maintained.
- • Manage the master materials register, ensuring accurate BOM-to-PO linkage, real-time status tracking from PO release through final site delivery, and providing complete end-to-end visibility for all relevant stakeholders.
- • Act as the primary escalation point for any in-transit, carrier, or documentation-related issues that pose a risk to project timelines, ensuring swift and effective resolution.
- • Serve as the principal Supply Chain liaison to internal teams including Construction, Infrastructure, Program Management, Procurement, Finance/Accounts Payable, and onsite operations. You will be responsible for logistics cost reporting, budget accountability, and providing the critical data required by our Accounting department for accruals and three-way matching processes.
- • Drive the strategic implementation and upgrades of our Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems and logistics platforms (including Warehouse Management Systems - WMS and Transportation Management Systems - TMS). Develop and maintain KPI dashboards to provide leadership with real-time operational insights and performance visibility.
