đź“‹ Description
- • Binti is at the forefront of revolutionizing social services through innovative software solutions for state and county government agencies. Our mission is deeply rooted in child welfare, aiming to ensure every child has access to a safe, loving, and stable family environment. To date, we have facilitated the approval of over 100,000 families for foster or adoption, and our technology supports more than 49% of the nation's child welfare system. We are not only strengthening our existing child welfare offerings but also expanding horizontally to address the root causes of family separation and provide broader support across other social service domains. As a mission-driven, for-profit SaaS company headquartered in San Francisco, CA, and backed by prominent investors such as Founders Fund, First Round Capital, and Kapor Capital, Binti is experiencing rapid growth with a dedicated team of 90 professionals.
- • We are seeking a highly organized and experienced Government Affairs & Partnerships Lead to play a pivotal role in scaling and operationalizing our state government affairs strategy and external partnerships. Reporting directly to our CEO, Felicia Curcuru, this position is instrumental in managing complex state-level advocacy efforts, coordinating with lobbyists and policymakers, and ensuring our government affairs initiatives are aligned, accountable, and progressing effectively. This role demands a unique blend of strategic coordination, executive-level engagement, and operational rigor.
- • The ideal candidate will be adept at engaging with senior government officials, adeptly navigating competing priorities, and comfortable initiating direct, sometimes challenging, conversations to drive progress. Beyond government affairs, this role will be responsible for formalizing and managing key partnerships within the child welfare and public sector ecosystem, contributing significantly to Binti's strategic growth and impact.
- • **Core Responsibilities in State Government Affairs:**
- • Partner closely with the Senior Director of Government Affairs to execute and scale Binti's state government affairs strategy across multiple states and diverse stakeholder groups.
- • Serve as a consistent and reliable point of contact for state lobbyists, ensuring clear articulation of goals, diligent follow-through, and robust accountability mechanisms.
- • Coordinate and actively participate in high-level meetings with governors' offices, chiefs of staff, policy directors, legislative staff, and other senior government officials, representing Binti's interests and objectives.
- • Diligently track and manage all ongoing state government engagements, meticulously documenting action items, follow-ups, critical timelines, and achieved outcomes to maintain momentum and ensure strategic alignment.
- • Help ensure that lobbyists and external partners are fully informed and aligned with Binti's product offerings, strategic positioning, and overarching priorities, fostering a unified external voice.
- • Support the scheduling and coordination of internal teams, including sales and government strategy, to ensure seamless and effective participation in key meetings, events, and advocacy efforts.
- • **Responsibilities in Partnerships and External Relationships:**
- • Own and strategically manage a portfolio of key partnerships with consulting firms, former agency leaders, influential policy organizations, and other critical entities within the child welfare and CCWIS (Child Care and Information Systems) ecosystem.
- • Develop and maintain thoughtful, tailored engagement strategies for each partner, clearly defining objectives, establishing appropriate communication cadences, and ensuring internal alignment on partnership goals.
- • Represent Binti with confidence and credibility to external partners, instilling trust and demonstrating executive-level understanding and commitment.
- • **Responsibilities in Research, Materials, and Operations:**
- • Continuously monitor and synthesize relevant legislative, regulatory, and political developments that impact child welfare and the broader public sector technology landscape, providing timely insights.
- • Draft and meticulously review policy briefs, compelling presentations, informative memos, and other critical briefing materials for both internal stakeholders and external audiences.
- • Maintain accurate, organized, and up-to-date records of all contacts, engagements, and partnership activities, ensuring a robust knowledge base.
- • Support the planning and execution of Binti's participation in significant industry organizations and events, such as the Republican Governors Association (RGA), Democratic Governors Association (DGA), and similar influential associations.
- • Attend meetings, hearings, and events as required, including occasional travel (estimated up to 25%) to represent Binti and advance its strategic objectives.
- • This is a unique opportunity to take significant ownership within a rapidly growing, mission-driven SaaS company dedicated to transforming how government serves families and children. We are looking for individuals who are mission-driven, possess high empathy, demonstrate high performance, and exhibit low ego, joining us on our exciting journey to rewire government for greater effectiveness and expanded opportunities globally.
