📋 Description

• Define and execute the enterprise-wide data strategy aligned with business objectives in a FinTech and financial services environment.
• Own the architecture and evolution of the enterprise data platform, including data ingestion, transformation, storage, and access layers.
• Build, lead, and develop a high-performing data engineering team while establishing engineering standards, delivery best practices, and performance metrics.
• Design and implement scalable data governance frameworks covering data ownership, quality, lineage, metadata, and stewardship.
• Ensure the data platform remains secure, reliable, scalable, and cost-efficient while supporting both operational and analytical workloads.
• Drive adoption of self-service analytics by enabling business teams to confidently access and leverage trusted, governed data products.
• Partner with senior leadership to translate business priorities into technical roadmaps and identify strategic data initiatives.
• Establish delivery processes, prioritization frameworks, and operating models that balance immediate business needs with long-term platform sustainability.
• Evaluate and implement appropriate cloud technologies, tooling, and vendor solutions to enhance data capabilities.
• Champion a data-driven culture by improving data literacy, promoting best practices, and increasing organizational data maturity across departments.
• Communicate technical strategy, delivery progress, risks, and business impact clearly to executive and non-technical stakeholders.
• Support AI and advanced analytics initiatives by building robust, scalable data foundations that enable model development and deployment.
• Maintain compliance with regulatory requirements inherent to financial services through structured data management and audit-ready processes.
• Foster collaboration between data engineering, analytics, product, and compliance teams to ensure alignment on data priorities and delivery.
• Lead the transition from legacy or fragmented data systems to a unified, modern cloud-based data platform.
• Monitor platform performance, costs, and usage patterns to optimize efficiency and scalability.
• Recruit and retain top-tier data engineering talent to support organizational growth and technical ambition.
• Represent the data function in cross-functional leadership meetings and contribute to strategic decision-making.
• Ensure data products meet internal SLAs for availability, accuracy, and timeliness.
• Promote a culture of continuous improvement, experimentation, and engineering excellence within the data organization.

🎯 Requirements

• Proven experience leading enterprise data strategy and owning modern data platforms within complex organizations
• Extensive experience building and leading Data Engineering or Data Platform teams
• Strong expertise with modern cloud-based data architectures, data warehousing, ETL/ELT pipelines, and data platform design
• Demonstrated experience implementing data governance, data quality, lineage, metadata management, and stewardship frameworks
• Track record of scaling data capabilities and improving organizational data maturity
• Fluent English communication skills
