📋 Description

• Define and execute the enterprise-wide data strategy aligned with business objectives in a FinTech and financial services environment.
• Own the architecture and evolution of the enterprise data platform, including data ingestion, transformation, storage, and access layers.
• Build, lead, and develop a high-performing data engineering team while establishing engineering standards, delivery best practices, and performance metrics.
• Design and implement scalable data governance frameworks covering data ownership, quality, lineage, metadata, and stewardship.
• Ensure the data platform remains secure, reliable, scalable, and cost-efficient while supporting both operational and analytical workloads.
• Drive adoption of self-service analytics by enabling business teams to confidently access and leverage trusted, governed data products.
• Partner with senior leadership to translate business priorities into technical roadmaps and identify strategic data initiatives.
• Establish delivery processes, prioritization frameworks, and operating models that balance immediate business needs with long-term platform sustainability.
• Evaluate and implement appropriate cloud technologies, tooling, and vendor solutions to enhance data capabilities.
• Champion a data-driven culture by improving data literacy, promoting best practices, and increasing organizational data maturity across departments.
• Communicate technical strategy, delivery progress, risks, and business impact clearly to executive and non-technical stakeholders.
• Support AI and advanced analytics initiatives by building robust, scalable data foundations that enable model training, deployment, and monitoring.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements inherent to financial services through robust data controls and audit-ready infrastructure.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with engineering, product, risk, and compliance teams to align data capabilities with organizational goals.
• Lead the transition from legacy or fragmented data systems to a unified, modern cloud-based data platform.
• Monitor platform performance, cost efficiency, and scalability to optimize resource allocation and technical debt reduction.
• Foster a culture of ownership, continuous improvement, and engineering excellence within the data organization.

🎯 Requirements

• Proven experience leading enterprise data strategy and owning modern data platforms within complex organizations
• Extensive experience building and leading Data Engineering or Data Platform teams
• Strong expertise with modern cloud-based data architectures, data warehousing, ETL/ELT pipelines, and data platform design
• Demonstrated experience implementing data governance, data quality, lineage, metadata management, and stewardship frameworks
• Track record of scaling data capabilities and improving organizational data maturity
• Experience delivering self-service analytics capabilities and enabling business adoption of data products
