📋 Description

• As the Head of Engineering for the UAE at Sully.ai, you will be at the forefront of revolutionizing healthcare through cutting-edge AI technology. This is a pivotal role where you will own and scale the core product efforts for our operations in the UAE, taking full responsibility for the architecture, execution, reliability, and performance of our solutions tailored to region-specific healthcare workflows, integrations, and stringent regulatory requirements.
• You will be instrumental in driving the end-to-end engineering execution for your designated domain. This encompasses everything from conceptualizing and designing robust architectures and defining strategic roadmaps to ensuring seamless delivery and unwavering reliability of our AI-powered healthcare solutions. Your leadership will directly impact the quality and efficiency of care delivery.
• A key objective of this role is to achieve significant performance improvements. You will be tasked with driving step-function latency reductions, with a target of at least 50 percent improvements across critical workflows such as note generation and clinical decision support. This focus on speed and efficiency is paramount to enhancing clinician productivity and patient outcomes.
• You will be responsible for designing, implementing, and operating sophisticated observability, metrics, and model-selection systems. These systems are crucial for ensuring consistent, high-level performance at scale, allowing us to monitor, analyze, and optimize our AI agents in real-time.
• Leading domain-specific execution rituals will be a core part of your responsibilities. This includes facilitating daily and weekly stand-ups, meticulously managing the backlog within Linear, and fostering tight, productive cross-functional coordination with product, design, and clinical teams.
• You will play a critical role in translating high-level product goals into clear, actionable technical plans. This involves defining dependencies, establishing realistic timelines, and ensuring all deliverables are met to keep teams unblocked and consistently shipping valuable features and improvements.
• Operationalizing continuous quality evaluation pipelines is essential. You will establish and maintain processes to rigorously assess and improve the accuracy, completeness, and overall reliability of our AI outputs, ensuring they meet the highest standards of clinical utility.
• Setting and enforcing engineering best practices across your entire stack is a non-negotiable aspect of this role. This includes championing high standards for code quality, conducting thorough code reviews, establishing robust on-call procedures, and instilling a culture of operational rigor throughout the engineering team.
• Sully.ai is on a mission to make great doctors accessible as a basic human right, combating the delays, misdiagnoses, administrative chaos, and burnout that plague the current healthcare system. Our AI teammates – scribes, nurses, receptionists, translators – are powered by our proprietary, world-class models, including our patented MedCon-1 architecture, which has demonstrated superior performance on clinical reasoning tasks compared to leading models like GPT-4.5, Gemini, and Claude.
• We have achieved remarkable traction in a short period, with over 450 organizations signed in just 16 months. Our AI agents are already delivering tangible results, cutting administrative tasks by approximately 2.8 hours daily per clinician and reducing onboarding times by 85%. • We are seeking A-players who can deliver an output equivalent to one year's work in just four months. 🎯 Requirements
