We have a proven and highly effective strategy for launching, scaling, and monetizing digital publications. Building upon this success, we are embarking on an ambitious venture to establish a world-class events business that will complement and amplify our existing media offerings.
  • We are seeking a visionary and entrepreneurial founding Head of Events to spearhead this exciting new initiative. This pivotal role involves the complete creation, launch, and scaling of a brand-new events division from its inception. You will be instrumental in defining the strategic vision for the events business, meticulously designing a diverse and impactful event portfolio, executing our inaugural marquee events, and establishing the robust systems and talented team necessary for sustained growth and success.
  • The scope of our events will encompass a variety of formats, including in-person, virtual, and hybrid experiences. Your expertise will be crucial in determining the optimal mix of these formats, strategically deploying them across different event types such as C-suite summits, intimate executive roundtables, engaging interviews, community-focused meetups, and compelling content-driven virtual experiences. Each event will be meticulously crafted with the overarching goals of driving audience growth, enriching our editorial output, and enhancing commercial performance.
  • This is a unique opportunity to build a significant business line with substantial backing. Unlike a typical startup role, you will be provided with the necessary capital, resources, and comprehensive cross-functional support from our established and profitable media company. This includes seamless collaboration with our dedicated brand, editorial, marketing, sales, and production teams. While you will operate with considerable freedom and autonomy, you will also bear the full responsibility for building this new division from the ground up.
  • A critical aspect of this role is the deep integration of events with BWZ's existing publications. The events division will not operate in isolation; instead, it will serve as a powerful engine that generates high-value content, expands our engaged audience base, strengthens our editorial authority within our respective industries, and unlocks significant new sponsorship opportunities. You will be tasked with building an events ecosystem that not only powers our media brands but is also intrinsically powered by them, creating a symbiotic relationship that drives mutual growth and success.
  • Your responsibilities will encompass the entire event lifecycle, from initial concept development and strategic planning to meticulous execution, post-event analysis, and continuous improvement. This includes:
  • Developing and articulating a clear, long-term vision and strategy for the BWZ events business, aligning it with the company's overall objectives and brand identity.
  • Designing and curating a diverse portfolio of events that cater to our target audiences, address key industry trends, and align with the content pillars of our publications.
  • Overseeing the end-to-end planning and execution of all events, ensuring seamless logistics, high-quality attendee experiences, and successful achievement of event objectives.
  • Collaborating closely with editorial teams to ensure event content is relevant, insightful, and contributes to the broader editorial strategy.
  • Partnering with marketing and sales teams to drive event promotion, attendee acquisition, and sponsorship sales.
  • Managing event budgets, financial performance, and profitability targets.
  • Building and leading a high-performing events team, fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, and excellence.
  • Establishing key performance indicators (KPIs) and reporting mechanisms to track event success and identify areas for optimization.

🎯 Requirements
