  • • Nexus Cognitive LLC is seeking a dynamic and experienced Head of Information Technology to lead and scale our corporate IT function. This pivotal role is designed for an individual who can blend strategic vision with hands-on execution, ensuring our IT infrastructure and operations effectively support a rapidly growing, engineering-focused organization with a global presence across the US and India. You will be instrumental in building a high-trust, high-velocity IT department, fostering innovation while maintaining robust security and compliance standards. This is an opportunity to own the entire IT delivery lifecycle, from onboarding new employees to managing complex migration projects and implementing cutting-edge AI security measures, all while ensuring seamless operations for our distributed workforce.
  • • As the Head of Information Technology, your day-to-day responsibilities will encompass a wide range of critical IT functions. You will meticulously design and manage streamlined onboarding and offboarding workflows, leveraging platforms like Rippling IT to ensure the consistent and secure provisioning and deprovisioning of access, devices, and accounts. A significant part of your role will involve owning the complete device lifecycle management, from procurement and meticulous inventory tracking to planning and executing hardware refresh cycles for both Mac and Windows fleets, always balancing cost-effectiveness with optimal performance. You will be the primary driver of day-to-day IT operations, overseeing the helpdesk function, managing escalations, conducting thorough root cause analyses, and championing continuous improvement initiatives to enhance service delivery. Furthermore, you will be responsible for establishing comprehensive IT policies, standards, and service level agreements tailored to our distributed workforce across the US and India, ensuring operational consistency and efficiency.
  • • A key aspect of this role involves leading significant corporate collaboration tooling migrations, such as Google Workspace and Slack, often in partnership with specialist external vendors. You will be responsible for the end-to-end project management of these migrations, ensuring clear timelines, effective change management strategies, and minimal disruption to business operations. In the rapidly evolving landscape of artificial intelligence, you will play a crucial role in evaluating and implementing AI security controls and tooling to proactively protect the organization against emerging risks. This will involve close collaboration with the Security team to establish clear governance frameworks for AI tool usage and robust data protection protocols. You will also be tasked with developing and maintaining IT policies that not only support business growth but also uphold stringent security and compliance requirements, ensuring these policies are clearly communicated and consistently enforced across the entire organization.
  • • Your responsibilities extend to managing identity and access administration with precision, overseeing Microsoft Entra ID and Google Workspace, including the implementation of role-based access, multi-factor authentication (MFA), and privileged access workflows. You will own endpoint management using Intune or equivalent Mobile Device Management (MDM) solutions, establishing and enforcing endpoint security baselines in close partnership with the Security team. Ensuring secure device configurations, maintaining endpoint hygiene, and implementing secure remote access protocols across all company devices will be paramount. Furthermore, you will take ownership of vendor selection, contract negotiation, and performance management for all IT-related vendors, including Managed Service Providers (MSPs) and migration specialists. This includes developing clear Statements of Work (SOWs), Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), and ensuring vendor accountability. You will also be responsible for defining and managing the licensing strategy and cost controls for essential software like Microsoft 365, Google Workspace, Defender, and other SaaS applications, actively working to reduce software bloat and prevent unnecessary expenditure. Your role will also involve a critical partnership with the Security and Compliance teams to ensure that IT operations seamlessly support ISO/SOC-style controls, audit readiness, evidence collection, and the implementation of secure defaults, thereby reducing risks associated with third-party access and unmanaged tooling.
  • • The team at Nexus Cognitive LLC is a collective of dedicated builders, problem-solvers, and collaborators who are passionate about accelerating innovation by transforming complex data into clear, actionable insights. We pride ourselves on a culture rooted in curiosity, ownership, collaboration, and care, fostering an environment where continuous learning and doing great work together are paramount. Our mission is to handle the intricate challenges of modern data platforms, governance, and cloud transformation, empowering our clients to make confident, strategic decisions. We are building a vibrant culture across the U.S. and India, and we are eager to welcome individuals who are motivated to do meaningful work alongside exceptional teammates.
  • • In this role, you will have the unique opportunity to significantly shape the future of IT at Nexus Cognitive LLC. You will gain invaluable experience in building and scaling a corporate IT function from the ground up in a fast-paced, high-growth environment. You will deepen your expertise in managing a global IT infrastructure, including navigating the complexities of international operations and cross-border compliance. This position offers substantial learning opportunities in areas such as advanced identity and access management, modern endpoint security solutions, cloud collaboration suite migrations, and the critical intersection of AI security and corporate IT governance. You will develop strong leadership and vendor management skills, hone your ability to implement efficient processes without creating unnecessary bureaucracy, and contribute directly to the company's strategic objectives by ensuring a secure, reliable, and scalable IT foundation that empowers innovation and growth.

🎯 Requirements

  • • 10+ years of progressive IT experience, with a significant portion dedicated to owning corporate IT delivery within a scaling organization.
  • • Proven hands-on experience leading and managing day-to-day IT operations, including helpdesk, escalations, and process improvement.
  • • Strong technical proficiency across Microsoft 365 administration, Google Workspace administration, Microsoft Entra ID (Azure AD) for identity and access management, Intune (or equivalent MDM) for endpoint management, and experience supporting mixed Mac and Windows environments.
  • • Demonstrated ability to effectively manage external vendors and Managed Service Providers (MSPs), including defining clear Statements of Work (SOWs), Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), and ensuring accountability.
  • • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively engage with both executive leadership and technical teams.

🏖️ Benefits

  • • A collaborative team culture built on curiosity, respect, and a shared commitment to doing great work.
  • • Challenging and impactful work where your contributions are clearly visible and directly contribute to the company's success.
  • • Investment in your professional growth through continuous learning and development opportunities.
  • • The chance to work at the forefront of innovation, at the intersection of cloud, data, and AI technologies.
