- • Lead the design and implementation of Statista’s global procurement strategy with a primary focus on software and licensing cost optimization across all regions.
- • Drive automation initiatives to streamline the evaluation and fulfillment of software requirements, improving efficiency and reducing manual overhead.
- • Redesign and enhance the procurement organization, including procurement processes, tools, and policies, in close collaboration with finance and other internal departments.
- • Coordinate closely with business units to align software and license acquisitions with operational needs, ensuring compliance and optimal utilization.
- • Plan and control software expenditure in partnership with controlling teams and software owners within business departments to ensure budget adherence and cost transparency.
- • Identify, evaluate, and manage relationships with software vendors and service providers, conducting competitive bidding, pricing negotiations, and contract finalization.
- • Lead, develop, and mentor a procurement team, fostering professional growth and high-performance standards.
- • Ensure end-to-end ownership of the procure-to-pay cycle, with particular emphasis on SAP-based systems and workflows.
- • Serve as the primary liaison between procurement and senior leadership, advocating for procurement objectives and securing buy-in for strategic initiatives.
- • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of software licensing models, market trends, and vendor landscapes to inform strategic sourcing decisions.
- • Implement data-driven approaches to analyze spending patterns, identify savings opportunities, and report on procurement KPIs to stakeholders.
- • Promote cross-functional collaboration with finance, IT, legal, and business units to align procurement activities with broader organizational goals.
- • Ensure all procurement activities comply with internal policies and external regulatory requirements.
- • Represent Statista in vendor negotiations with fluency in both German and English, securing favorable terms and long-term value.
- • Continuously improve procurement tools and systems, leveraging technology to enhance transparency, speed, and accuracy in sourcing operations.
- • Support the integration of ServiceNow for operational procurement request handling, where applicable, to improve workflow efficiency.
- • Contribute to Statista’s mission by enabling data-driven decision-making through efficient and strategic acquisition of critical software resources.
🎯 Requirements
- • 5–10 years of experience in strategic procurement, preferably within software and licensing in tech-intensive industries
- • Proven track record of negotiating and achieving significant software cost reductions
- • Deep understanding of the procure-to-pay process, particularly within SAP environments
- • Extensive experience negotiating procurement objectives with executive leadership and business unit heads
- • Proficiency in German and English, with full negotiation capability in both languages
- • Strong analytical and conceptual skills for strategic sourcing and cost optimization
