- • The High Performance Computing (HPC) Subject Matter Expert (SME) role at GDIT supports mission-critical initiatives for the DoD High Performance Computing Modernization Program (HPCMP), ensuring the safety and security of the nation through expert computational support.
- • Day-to-day responsibilities include providing in-depth technical analysis on DoD HPCMP High Priority Projects, advising on new initiatives and ongoing projects as part of the New User Support Team, analyzing technical merit and mission impact of new projects, maintaining accurate documentation on resource management, documenting user requirements and experiences on DSRC systems, developing performance metrics for technology forecasting and benchmarking, advising on system metrics beyond standard utilization and throughput, supporting the Chief Technology Officer’s Technology Forecast effort, and facilitating between the HPC Advisory Panel and HPCMP RM Associate Director on project renewals and requests.
- • The role sits within GDIT’s Technical Solutions job family, collaborating with a team of innovative engineers and computational scientists focused on building relationships with the HPC community to solve challenges for DoD scientists and engineers across the Army, Navy, and Air Force.
- • The position offers the opportunity to deepen expertise in HPC applications and systems integration, influence national defense technology strategy, develop leadership in technical advising and stakeholder facilitation, and contribute to impactful research, development, test, and evaluation (RDT&E) initiatives with real-world mission impact.
🎯 Requirements
- • 20+ years of related HPC experience
- • Secret security clearance (must be able to obtain)
- • US citizenship required
- • Experience analyzing solution components, identifying systems integration challenges, and resolving technology gaps to meet performance targets
- • Familiarity with commonly used HPC applications and services
- • Ability to work independently, manage schedules, and clearly present ideas to technical and non-technical audiences
