đź“‹ Description
- • As an Infrastructure Engineer at Fieldguide, you will be at the forefront of building and maintaining the robust cloud foundation that powers our innovative platform. This role is pivotal in ensuring the scalability, reliability, and security of our services, directly impacting the velocity and efficiency of our engineering teams. You will act as a technical owner for critical infrastructure components, collaborating closely with product engineers to translate complex requirements into seamless, high-performing systems. Your contributions will not only shape our current infrastructure but also influence the future development of our team's norms around quality, automation, and best practices.
- • You will be responsible for the end-to-end lifecycle of our core platform infrastructure. This includes designing, building, and maintaining the systems that support our rapidly growing suite of services. A significant part of your role will involve developing and managing Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using industry-leading tools like Terraform. This ensures that our environments are provisioned consistently, reliably, and can be easily replicated, tested, and deployed, minimizing manual errors and maximizing efficiency.
- • Collaboration is key in this role. You will work hand-in-hand with our software and data engineering teams, acting as a crucial partner in providing them with self-service infrastructure and platform tooling. The goal is to empower these teams, enabling them to accelerate their development workflows and deploy features faster, without compromising on stability or security. This involves understanding their needs, anticipating future requirements, and building solutions that are intuitive and effective.
- • Proactive monitoring and continuous improvement are essential. You will be tasked with monitoring the health, performance, and cost-efficiency of our systems. This involves implementing and refining metrics, logging, and alerting frameworks using tools such as Datadog and AWS CloudWatch. By deeply understanding system behavior, you will identify bottlenecks, predict potential issues, and implement optimizations to ensure our platform remains highly available and performant.
- • Security and compliance are paramount. You will play a critical role in ensuring the security and regulatory compliance of our infrastructure. This includes implementing and enforcing best practices for identity and access management, network segmentation, secure secrets handling, and robust vulnerability management. Your work will directly contribute to maintaining the trust and integrity of our platform, especially given the sensitive nature of the audit and advisory industry we serve.
- • You will be an integral part of our incident response process. This involves actively participating in the investigation of production incidents, conducting thorough root cause analyses, and driving the implementation of long-term solutions to prevent recurrence. This focus on learning from incidents and continuously improving our systems is a cornerstone of our operational excellence.
- • As a senior member of the team, you will have the opportunity to mentor and guide junior engineers. Sharing your expertise in infrastructure fundamentals, cloud technologies, and best practices will be crucial in fostering a culture of learning and growth within the engineering department.
- • Ensuring business continuity and disaster recovery is a key responsibility. You will contribute to the planning and implementation of strategies that guarantee the high availability and resilience of our critical systems, minimizing downtime and ensuring our clients can always rely on Fieldguide.
- • Comprehensive documentation is vital for transparency and team enablement. You will be responsible for documenting our infrastructure designs, key architectural decisions, and operational procedures. This ensures that knowledge is shared effectively, onboarding is streamlined, and the team can operate efficiently and autonomously.
- • This role offers a unique opportunity to shape the future of trust in commerce and capital markets by building the foundational technology that empowers audit and advisory practitioners. You will be joining an early-stage startup with a strong backing and a clear vision, where your impact will be significant and directly felt.
