- • Infrastructure Engineer role focused on designing and owning the cloud infrastructure, databases, and core systems that enable all engineering teams at Flex to build and ship products reliably and at scale.
- • Day-to-day responsibilities include designing, building, and operating AWS-based infrastructure, managing and tuning Postgres databases, implementing infrastructure as code with Terraform, collaborating with backend and frontend teams to translate needs into platform capabilities, troubleshooting production issues related to scaling and reliability, maintaining documentation and on-call runbooks, and contributing to a culture of operational excellence and learning.
- • Flex is an early-stage fintech company solving the problem of HSA/FSA payment processing for health and wellness brands, enabling real-time eligibility verification, split payments, and Letters of Medical Necessity at checkout, backed by prominent investors and serving clients like Equinox, Dermstore, and Therabody.
- • The role offers the opportunity to make a significant impact at a growing startup, work on mission-critical financial infrastructure, develop deep expertise in cloud and database systems, collaborate across functions, and grow technically and professionally in a high-trust, transparent environment.
🎯 Requirements
- • 5+ years of experience building and operating production infrastructure at scale
- • Hands-on experience with AWS, database operations and tuning (Postgres or similar), and infrastructure as code (Terraform or similar)
- • Resourceful, curious, and comfortable learning new tools quickly
- • Thrives in fast-paced, dynamic environments and enjoys wearing multiple hats
- • Collaborative and enjoys working across teams to solve problems
