📋 Description

• As an Infrastructure Engineer at Origin by Prelude, you will be instrumental in constructing the very bedrock of our cutting-edge endpoint protection platform. This is a pivotal role where you will architect, develop, and meticulously maintain the cloud infrastructure and sophisticated CI/CD frameworks that empower our brilliant engineering and research teams. Your work will directly enable them to deliver high-performance, exceptionally stable, and remarkably resilient software with unparalleled velocity, ensuring our customers are protected in the evolving Semantic Era.
• You will embody the principles of both Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) and DevOps, taking full ownership of the entire lifecycle of our critical services. This encompasses everything from the initial architectural design and seamless infrastructure provisioning to the intricate processes of deployment, vigilant monitoring, and swift, effective incident response. Your expertise will be the cornerstone of our platform's reliability, scalability, and unwavering security for our global clientele.
• Your primary responsibility will be to design, build, and continuously maintain the core infrastructure that forms the backbone of Origin's advanced endpoint protection platform. This involves making strategic decisions about cloud services, resource allocation, and system architecture to ensure optimal performance and cost-efficiency.
• You will be tasked with developing and expertly managing our CI/CD pipelines. This includes automating the entire process of building, rigorously testing, and deploying our software. The goal is to create a streamlined, efficient, and error-free delivery mechanism that allows for rapid iteration and deployment of new features and security updates.
• A key aspect of your role will be to scale our systems sustainably through intelligent automation. You will leverage Infrastructure as Code (IaC) principles to ensure that our infrastructure can grow seamlessly and reliably in response to increasing demand, without compromising stability or introducing manual complexities.
• You will implement and manage robust monitoring, logging, and alerting systems. This is crucial for maintaining the health, availability, and peak performance of our services. You will define key metrics, set up comprehensive dashboards, and establish effective alerting mechanisms to proactively identify and address any potential issues before they impact our users.
• Collaboration is at the heart of this role. You will work hand-in-hand with our talented software engineers and dedicated security researchers. Your focus will be on enhancing the reliability, deployability, and overall operational excellence of their code, fostering a culture of shared responsibility for system health.
• You will practice sustainable incident response, ensuring that when issues arise, they are handled efficiently and with minimal disruption. Following each incident, you will conduct thorough, blameless postmortems. This process is vital for identifying root causes, learning from mistakes, and implementing corrective actions to prevent recurrence, driving a cycle of continuous improvement.
• You will serve as a go-to subject matter expert within the company on all things related to cloud architecture, system scalability, and operational best practices. Your insights and guidance will be invaluable in shaping our technical direction and ensuring we adhere to the highest standards of engineering excellence.

🎯 Requirements

• Demonstrable experience building and managing infrastructure in a major cloud environment (e.g., AWS, GCP, Azure).
• Strong proficiency with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools like CloudFormation, Ansible, or Terraform.
• Experience with containerization and orchestration technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).
• Solid understanding of CI/CD principles and experience with tools such as GitHub Actions.
• Proficiency in one or more programming or scripting languages, such as Python or Rust.
• Experience implementing and using modern observability tools for monitoring, logging, and tracing (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana, Datadog, ELK stack).
• Strong understanding of networking and security best practices in cloud environments.
• Experience working in a fast-paced, adaptive startup environment (Nice-to-have).
• Prior experience building and managing infrastructure for a security-focused product or in a high-compliance environment (Nice-to-have).
• Experience with distributed systems (Nice-to-have).
• Systems programming experience, ideally using Rust (Nice-to-have).
