• As an Infrastructure Engineer II based in Berlin, you will become an integral part of our Developer Enablement domain. This domain is crucial for providing all cross-functional development teams with a robust, scalable, reliable, cost-effective, and highly secure infrastructure. Your role will be pivotal in implementing and maintaining the core infrastructure framework, thereby creating a 'paved path' that enables our development teams to build and deploy their applications efficiently and securely.
• PPRO operates as a cloud-native FinTech, leveraging the power of AWS for our payment services and GCP for our advanced analytics capabilities. This dual-cloud environment presents exciting challenges and opportunities for innovation in infrastructure management and optimization.
• In this role, you will be responsible for the design, implementation, and ongoing management of our cloud infrastructure, with a strong focus on automation, security, and performance. You will work closely with development teams to understand their needs and translate them into scalable and resilient infrastructure solutions.
• Key responsibilities will include developing and maintaining Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using tools like Terraform, ensuring the security and compliance of our cloud environments, and implementing robust monitoring and alerting systems to proactively identify and resolve issues.
• You will contribute to the architecture and deployment of microservices, containerization technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes, and CI/CD pipelines to streamline the software development lifecycle.
• This position requires a proactive approach to problem-solving, a deep understanding of cloud-native principles, and a passion for building highly available and performant systems.

🎯 Requirements

• Proven experience as an Infrastructure Engineer, Cloud Engineer, or similar role, with a strong focus on cloud platforms (AWS and/or GCP).
• Proficiency in Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as Terraform, CloudFormation, or Ansible.
• Solid understanding of containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes).
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and tools (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab CI, CircleCI).
• Strong knowledge of networking concepts (TCP/IP, DNS, HTTP/S, VPNs).
• Experience with monitoring and logging tools (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana, ELK stack, Datadog).
• Familiarity with scripting languages (e.g., Python, Bash).
• Understanding of security best practices in cloud environments.
• Experience with Linux/Unix operating systems.
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Strong communication and collaboration abilities.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• Experience in a FinTech or highly regulated industry is a plus.
• Knowledge of database administration and management is a plus.
• Experience with serverless technologies is a plus.
• Familiarity with observability principles is a plus.
