📋 Description

• The Infrastructure Network Architect will design, evolve, and maintain Vultr’s global out-of-band management (OOBM) network infrastructure, playing a critical role in ensuring the reliability, scalability, and security of the company’s cloud services.
• Day-to-day responsibilities include designing resilient network topologies, implementing automation workflows with Ansible, configuring routing protocols and security controls, troubleshooting complex network incidents, producing technical documentation, and mentoring engineering teams.
• Vultr is the world’s largest privately-held cloud infrastructure company, operating 32 global data centers and serving hundreds of thousands of customers across 185 countries, with a $3.5 billion valuation as of December 2024.
• The role offers the opportunity to provide technical leadership, drive long-term network roadmap planning, gain deep expertise in global cloud infrastructure, and leave a lasting impact on the performance and scalability of Vultr’s services.

🎯 Requirements

• 10+ years of experience designing and operating network infrastructures in production environments
• Deep expertise in BGP, OSPF, VXLAN, IPSec, VRRP, DHCP, VLAN, RSTP, and Storm Control
• Strong Linux administration skills and hands-on experience with network automation using Ansible or similar frameworks
• Proven ability to configure and maintain Layer 2 and Layer 3 ACLs, firewall policies, and advanced security features like ARP and Neighbor Discovery Inspection
• Experience operating global or multi-site network infrastructures with a focus on high availability, redundancy, and fault tolerance
• Excellent documentation, technical communication, mentoring, and cross-functional collaboration skills
