đź“‹ Description

  • • As an Integrations Engineer at Binti, you will be at the forefront of connecting our innovative social services software with government agencies and other partners. This role is pivotal in ensuring our clients can seamlessly leverage the full power of the Binti platform by designing, building, and maintaining robust integrations. You will own high-impact, externally-facing technical projects from their inception through to successful launch, working collaboratively with our customers to understand their unique needs and technical landscapes.
  • • Your responsibilities will span the entire integration lifecycle. This includes leading critical architecture discussions to ensure integrations are sound, reliable, and performant. You'll be deeply involved in full-stack coding, with an emphasis on back-end development (approximately 80%) and front-end work (approximately 20%), focusing on building stable, scalable, and performant integration pipelines and APIs.
  • • A significant part of your role will involve direct customer engagement. You will participate in discovery and architecture sessions, acting as a technical consultant to ensure integrations are designed to meet customer needs, optimally utilize the Binti platform, and adhere to security, performance, and scalability standards. You will also work directly with customer development teams, providing live support and consulting, whether virtually or in-person, to guide them through the integration process.
  • • Beyond building new integrations, you will play a crucial role in optimizing and improving the tools that both Binti's internal delivery teams and our customers use daily. This includes enhancing the performance of integration pipelines, APIs, and components, focusing on both latency and throughput. You will also mentor other engineers on software engineering best practices, contributing to the team's overall technical growth and knowledge sharing.
  • • Monitoring the health and performance of integration pipelines post-launch is essential. You will be responsible for ensuring these systems operate correctly and efficiently. Synthesizing and delivering product feedback to the Product Management team is also a key aspect, enabling continuous improvement of Binti's modules and integration capabilities. You'll collaborate closely with Product Management to scope and execute new features, always upholding Binti's core values.
  • • A strong focus on the longevity and maintainability of the codebase is expected. You will identify and advocate for patterns that promote flexibility, scalability, and ease of understanding for other engineers. Your efforts will help the team move quickly and learn effectively while fostering a welcoming and supportive culture. You will champion security and privacy, actively seeking ways to enhance HIPAA compliance for sensitive data and integrate security best practices into all aspects of your work.
  • • Sample projects illustrate the dynamic nature of this role: you might join meetings with a new customer to understand their workflow and information architecture, then design an integration using Binti's APIs or connectors. You could collaborate side-by-side with a customer during co-development, providing live support. Developing new API endpoints, connectors, or other integration tools to extend Binti's capabilities is also a core function. Furthermore, you will respond to customer support requests, debugging, triaging, and resolving issues discovered post-launch for existing integrations.
  • • This role is ideal for a technically sharp, customer-focused engineer who thrives in a collaborative environment and is passionate about using technology to improve social services. You'll have the opportunity to make a tangible impact, helping to rewire government systems for greater effectiveness and expand opportunities for people worldwide.

🎯 Requirements

  • • At least 3 years of professional software engineering experience, preferably in a customer-facing role such as an integrations engineer or consultant.
  • • Strong command of full-stack development, with an 80% back-end and 20% front-end focus, including experience with APIs, data pipelines (ETL), and distributed integrated systems.
  • • Demonstrated ability to architect, build, and maintain robust integrations, coupled with excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective customer and cross-functional collaboration.
  • • Startup mindset: comfortable with ambiguity, balancing risks, and iterating on MVPs, with experience working with legacy systems being a significant plus.

🏖️ Benefits

  • • Above-market compensation package including salary and equity.
  • • Comprehensive health benefits: excellent medical, dental, vision, and life insurance with 99% of premiums covered for employees and dependents.
  • • Generous paid time off: flexible vacation time, 13 paid holidays plus 11 federally observed holidays, Election Day, the day after Thanksgiving, and 16 weeks of paid parental bonding leave.
  • • Additional benefits: 4 weeks of sabbatical after 4 years of service, 401k, commuter benefits, FSA, DCFSA, and a $5,000 annual bonus for CASA volunteers.
