ďż˝ Description
- • Join Dexcom’s 2026 Summer Intern Program as an Intern I – Software Development Engineering and spend 12 weeks at the forefront of continuous glucose monitoring (CGM) innovation. You will be embedded in the R&D Software organization, partnering with senior engineers who are redefining how cloud economics power life-changing medical devices.
- • Own a high-impact project that directly influences Dexcom’s multi-million-dollar cloud budget. You will mine petabyte-scale Google Cloud Platform (GCP) billing and telemetry data to surface patterns, anomalies, and optimization opportunities that leadership uses to make strategic investment decisions.
- • Build end-to-end data pipelines in Python or Go that ingest, cleanse, and enrich raw GCP cost and usage feeds. Your code will run in production, feeding dashboards and machine-learning models that predict future spend with <5 % forecast error.
- • Design and iterate on predictive models—linear regressions, gradient-boosted trees, and neural nets—to forecast cloud spend across compute, storage, networking, and managed services. You will tune hyperparameters, evaluate drift, and champion the best-performing model into production.
- • Create executive-ready visualizations in Looker Studio, Tableau, or Grafana that translate complex cloud economics into clear, actionable narratives. Your dashboards will be reviewed by VPs and used in quarterly business reviews.
- • Collaborate daily with cross-functional stakeholders in Finance, DevOps, and Product to translate business questions into technical requirements. You will present findings in weekly stand-ups and a final capstone presentation to the CTO staff.
- • Participate in Dexcom’s Learning Series—interactive workshops on agile development, regulatory compliance in medical software, and career-pathing with senior leaders. Past interns have cited this series as the catalyst for converting internships into full-time offers.
- • Contribute to code reviews, sprint planning, and retrospectives using Jira and GitHub. You will practice test-driven development and CI/CD best practices in a regulated environment (IEC 62304), ensuring every commit meets Dexcom’s rigorous quality standards.
- • Immerse yourself in Dexcom’s mission-driven culture. From “Dexcom Warriors” patient panels to volunteer events, you will witness firsthand how your technical work empowers people with diabetes to live confidently and without limits.
- • Document your models, pipelines, and findings in Confluence to create a reusable knowledge base. Your artifacts will enable future interns and full-time engineers to iterate faster and maintain forecast accuracy over time.
- • Enjoy the flexibility of a fully remote California-based role, with optional hybrid access to Dexcom’s San Diego or Mesa offices for hackathons, lunch-and-learns, and networking events. Travel is limited to 0–5 %, so you can focus on coding and learning.
- • Cap your summer with the Intern Recognition Awards, where standout projects are celebrated company-wide. Previous award-winning interns have seen their prototypes adopted into production roadmaps within six months.
