Full Job Description
đź“‹ Description
- • Join the GoDaddy Commerce team as a Software Development Engineer Intern and spend 10–12 weeks building production-grade features that impact millions of everyday entrepreneurs around the globe. You will be embedded in a full-stack squad that owns the end-to-end experience of our point-of-sale, online storefront, and payment solutions.
- • From day one you will receive a real-world backlog item—such as accelerating checkout latency, extending multi-currency support, or surfacing AI-driven sales insights—and take it from design review to production deployment. Your code will run on AWS, ship behind feature flags, and be monitored with Datadog dashboards that you help tune.
- • Pair daily with senior engineers who will coach you on clean architecture, test-driven development, and observability best practices. Expect to open pull requests in your first week, receive thoughtful code reviews, and iterate quickly in a blameless culture that celebrates learning.
- • Contribute to our Kotlin micro-services and React/TypeScript front-end while also touching Terraform infrastructure and GitHub Actions pipelines. You will write unit, integration, and contract tests that run in our CI pipeline and protect the quality bar for 99.99 % uptime.
- • Instrument new features with metrics and alerts so that product managers can make data-informed decisions. You will query Snowflake, craft Looker dashboards, and present findings to stakeholders, sharpening both your technical and storytelling skills.
- • Participate in agile ceremonies—stand-ups, sprint planning, and retros—where your voice is valued the same as any full-time engineer. You will estimate complexity, raise risks early, and demo completed work to executives during our Friday “Show & Tell” sessions.
- • Collaborate with UX researchers and designers to refine accessibility and mobile-first experiences. You will run A/B experiments and analyze conversion lift, directly influencing the roadmap for the 2025 holiday shopping season.
- • Own an intern capstone project that tackles a problem you are passionate about—past interns have built real-time inventory forecasting, a GraphQL gateway for partner integrations, and a Slack bot that surfaces payment anomalies. You will present the outcome to the VP of Engineering and often see it rolled out to customers within weeks.
- • Experience our “remote-first, office-optional” culture: choose to work from home, a co-working space, or any GoDaddy office worldwide. We provide stipends for ergonomic gear and high-speed internet so you can be productive wherever you feel most inspired.
- • Build relationships through virtual coffee chats, intern hackathons, and volunteer days with GoDaddy’s social-impact initiatives. By the end of the summer you will have a global network of mentors, a portfolio of shipped features, and a clear pathway to a return offer.
🎯 Requirements
- • Currently pursuing a BS, MS, or PhD in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical field with an expected graduation date between December 2025 and June 2026
- • Proficiency in at least one modern programming language such as Java, Kotlin, Python, Go, JavaScript, or TypeScript demonstrated through coursework, personal projects, or previous internships
- • Solid understanding of data structures, algorithms, and object-oriented design; able to analyze time/space complexity and write efficient, maintainable code
- • Experience with version control (Git/GitHub) and collaborative development workflows (pull requests, code reviews, CI/CD) either in academic group projects or open-source contributions
- • Nice-to-have: exposure to cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP), containerization (Docker), or infrastructure-as-code (Terraform, CloudFormation)
🏖️ Benefits
- • Competitive hourly wage of $45–$55 based on location and year of study, with overtime eligibility for any hours above 40 per week
- • One-time $2,000 remote-work stipend to cover ergonomic equipment, high-speed internet, or co-working memberships
- • Full access to GoDaddy’s learning platform, including Udemy Business, O’Reilly, and internal tech talks; interns receive a $500 education credit for certification exams
- • Dedicated mentor and executive sponsor, plus guaranteed final-round interviews for 2026 new-grad or returning-intern positions upon successful completion of the program
