- • As a Forward Deployed Data Engineer at Datafold, you will own the end-to-end delivery of AI-automated data platform migration projects, serving as the primary customer contact and technical lead for large-scale migrations with guaranteed timelines.
- • Day to day, you will manage 1–4 concurrent migration projects from scoping and planning through execution and customer handoff, run weekly check-ins with stakeholders, configure and oversee Datafold's Migration Agent, and partner with engineering teams to ensure timely delivery.
- • You will join a venture-backed software company that has reimagined data engineering automation from the ground up, delivering projects up to 6x faster than traditional methods through proprietary AI tooling and deep partnerships with platforms like Databricks and Snowflake.
- • In this role, you will gain deep expertise in AI-driven data migration, refine scalable delivery playbooks, and grow your impact as a technical leader at the intersection of data engineering, customer success, and product innovation.
🎯 Requirements
- • 3–6 years in data consulting, professional services, or a customer-facing data engineering role
- • Excellent communication skills — equally comfortable in an exec check-in and a technical design session
- • Strong grasp of the modern data stack: dbt, Snowflake, Databricks, orchestration tools, and major patterns (stored procedures, streaming, incremental processing)
- • Extreme ownership mentality — you identify, surface, and fix problems and rally the team to help without being told
- • AI power user — using AI every day and always learning and improving on how to use it more effectively
- • Exposure to legacy data stack and patterns (ETL, stored procedures, etc.) and data platform migration projects is a strong plus
