- • At Fingerprint, we are at the forefront of combating online fraud, empowering developers to secure their platforms at the source. We thrive on transforming innovative ideas into reality within the fraud detection space. Our products are meticulously designed for developers, serving a diverse clientele ranging from individual creators to large, publicly traded corporations. As a globally dispersed, 100% remote company, we foster a strong culture of open-source contribution, exemplified by our flagship project, FingerprintJS, which boasts over 20,000 stars on GitHub. We have recently secured $77 million in funding, backed by prominent investors like Craft Ventures, Nexus Venture Partners, and Uncorrelated Ventures, underscoring our significant growth and market potential.
- • We are seeking a highly motivated and innovative iOS Security Researcher to join our dynamic team. This role is critical to our mission of staying ahead of the curve in mobile fraud detection and prevention. You will be instrumental in developing and enhancing the signals within our native iOS mobile SDK, directly contributing to the accuracy and effectiveness of our fraud prevention solutions. Your work will involve close collaboration with our web and Android research teams to elevate iOS Web identification accuracy and bolster our suite of Smart Signals, including sophisticated VPN detection across iOS and Android browsers.
- • The ideal candidate possesses a deep curiosity and a proactive approach to uncovering new possibilities and devising unconventional methods to address complex fraud-related challenges. You will be tasked with extracting raw information using iOS developer APIs to gather data artifacts that enable more robust and stable device posture and VPN detection. This involves a hands-on, low-level approach to understanding and leveraging the intricacies of the iOS operating system.
- • A significant aspect of this role involves innovation and security. You will apply your expertise to continuously enhance our fraud prevention products, SDKs, and APIs. A key responsibility is to develop methods that protect our proprietary findings from reverse engineering by competitors, ensuring our competitive edge. This requires a meticulous and security-conscious mindset throughout the research and development process.
- • You will be responsible for documenting your findings thoroughly and creating non-production proof-of-concept (PoC) code to demonstrate your discoveries and their potential applications. This documentation is vital for knowledge sharing within the team and for the integration of new features into our products.
- • Collaboration is central to our success. You will work closely with our web researchers to investigate and understand findings within mobile browsers, utilizing iOS browser APIs. This cross-functional collaboration will involve exploring specific components of the iOS ecosystem to extract valuable data and improve identification capabilities. Your insights will directly impact the overall accuracy and scope of our fraud detection services.
- • You will also play a key role in task prioritization, aligning your research efforts with critical business needs. This includes, but is not limited to, developing advanced techniques for detecting remote device control and other emerging fraud vectors. As the iOS security subject-matter expert, you will be the go-to resource for OS-level research and hands-on low-level tasks across the company, contributing to a holistic understanding of mobile security threats.
- • This position offers a unique opportunity to make a significant impact in the rapidly evolving field of online fraud prevention. You will be part of a talented, globally distributed team that values innovation, collaboration, and a passion for security. If you are driven by the challenge of uncovering complex security vulnerabilities and developing cutting-edge solutions, we encourage you to apply.
🎯 Requirements

- • A strong hacking mindset or a profound interest in security and fraud prevention, with a proactive approach to identifying and mitigating risks.
- • Solid understanding of iOS/mobile technology, including deep knowledge of operating system internals, security concepts, and common vulnerabilities.
- • Experience in reverse-engineering mobile applications or similar in-depth research projects, with the ability to analyze complex systems and extract actionable insights.
- • Proficiency in Swift and Objective-C, with experience in using iOS developer APIs and debugging tools.
