📋 Description

• Relevance AI is seeking a highly motivated and proactive IT Manager to establish and lead our internal IT operations. As our first dedicated IT Manager, you will be instrumental in shaping the technological backbone of our rapidly growing AI company. This is a unique opportunity to build our IT infrastructure from the ground up, with significant autonomy and trust from leadership to define and implement best practices. You will own every aspect of our IT environment, ensuring our Sydney-based team and global remote employees have the seamless, friction-free experience they need to excel.
• You will be the primary point of contact for all day-to-day IT support needs, diagnosing and resolving issues related to hardware, software, networks, and access. Your ability to rapidly unblock teammates will be crucial in maintaining productivity and fostering a positive work environment. This hands-on role requires a blend of technical expertise and strong interpersonal skills to effectively support our diverse team.
• A core responsibility will be the end-to-end ownership of our corporate IT infrastructure. This includes managing and maintaining all company-issued laptops, ensuring the reliability and security of our office network, overseeing peripherals, and managing audio-visual equipment in our physical spaces. Your efforts will directly impact the ability of our Sydney, San Francisco, and remote employees to collaborate effectively and conduct their work without interruption.
• You will be responsible for the entire IT lifecycle of employee onboarding and offboarding. This involves the meticulous provisioning of new hardware, setting up user accounts across our extensive SaaS stack, and managing access permissions and changes. Ensuring a smooth and secure transition for new hires and departing employees is paramount to maintaining operational efficiency and data integrity.
• A key focus will be the administration and continuous improvement of our identity and device management systems. You will manage and optimize tools like Entra and Kandji, ensuring that access to company resources is reliable, consistent, secure, and scalable. This includes implementing robust policies and procedures to govern user access and device compliance.
• You will collaborate closely with various stakeholders across the business to manage our vendor relationships and software tools. This partnership will involve bringing order to our substantial SaaS footprint, identifying and eliminating duplication, and improving the procurement, management, and lifecycle of software licenses. Your insights will help optimize our technology spend and ensure we are leveraging the most effective tools.
• Developing and iterating on lightweight IT processes and documentation will be essential. As Relevance AI scales, it’s vital to introduce structure and best practices without creating bureaucratic hurdles or slowing down business operations. You will create clear, concise documentation that empowers users and streamlines IT operations.
• You will be a driving force behind incremental automation and operational improvements. By identifying opportunities to connect systems and automate repetitive tasks, you will enhance the efficiency and scalability of our IT function. This proactive approach will ensure our IT foundation can grow elegantly alongside the company.

🎯 Requirements

• 4+ years of hands-on IT experience, preferably within fast-moving tech environments or scaling startups.
• Demonstrated experience in supporting and managing Apple fleets (macOS) and mobile device management (MDM) solutions (e.g., Kandji or similar).
• Working knowledge of identity and access management (IAM) principles and tools (e.g., Microsoft Entra ID, Google Workspace) for user provisioning, deprovisioning, and access lifecycle management.
• Proven ability to manage day-to-day IT support (helpdesk/ticket triage) while simultaneously driving strategic improvements across corporate infrastructure (laptops, office network, peripherals, AV).
• Excellent prioritization, communication, and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to lead change initiatives.
• Capacity to work autonomously, navigate ambiguity, take end-to-end ownership, and systematically implement order and process in a dynamic environment.
